Clawhammer! I just bought a resonator to learn three finger and now I want to learn Clawhammer.
Bro is so silly
No picks. Love it!
The ring from the picks separates the banjo sound from more of the strum guitar sound. They both sound good but over all I think the pick style gives that true banjo sound.
Believe it was for the 1986 Olympics in Los Angeles
The best banjo arrangement that I 've ever heard !!!!!
i have only heard this as good, and if i recall it was doc watson. This is pure stuff. thanks
Are the chords the same
Hey, that's a great question! Yes the chords are the same.
This is fascinating music - especially "The Gale."
This guy is Joerg Sparve if he were a banjo player.
@@banjo-beard BWAH Ha Ha HA HA. Does he own a banjo?
Fantastic! So creative!
@@jaredikin455 hey thanks so much for watching!
A wonderful performance and great tune.
How did I miss this one?
Love it so much
Love this. It has almost more of a celtic guitar sound to it than most bluegrass versions I've heard. Reminds of an irish guitarist named Jon Hicks I recently found.
Thanks for the tip

@@JenniferKube Good job.
Just my opinion, but I like clawhammer banjo the best.
Great job !
What's up, dad? Did you vote for us yet?
Wicked! :)
Thanks! We'd really appreciate your vote! The instructions are in the description. Hope you are doing well, Susan! I hope to see you at the next JHUI meeting. We need to catch up!
Beginner here who’s waited 40 years to get a banjo. Decided I wanted to focus on clawhammer, didn’t want accessory picks. Man I’ve been learning and practicing three finger bluegrass for only a week and I love it! Your clawhammer bit is awesome.
hey thanks. I appreciate the remark!
crap i’m learning 3 finger right now but i think i like claw hammer better noooooo 😂
Yee Haw
Amen!!!
I approve of the Vince Guaraldi in this video....
Happy New Year!
The neighbors? :)
Dale ( on the left ) ROCKS the bald guy sucks ass…
Hooah🇺🇸
Hi Is it possible to learn clawhammer without openback? Thanks 😊
ABSOLUTELY.
Fantastic.
Driving across the Illinois plain Hard times in '33 John's got a bottle and he's feeling no pain Just the usual low down misery Hey John don't you think it's a crying shame A man lose a farm and he ain't to blame "They're suckers," says John Dillinger It's another bleak November day Can't decide to rain or snow The money's in the bags and they're getting away Heading north to Chicago Big gray buildings, little gray men Have a little fun then we'll do it again "All right," says John Dillinger Luther's bleeding from a hole in his side I don't believe he'll make it through Ruby cradles his head and she starts to cry Oh God, what can I do? I've always been a gangster's girl Don't die and leave me alone in the world "Shut up," says John Dillinger Across his lap a sub-machine Under his arm a .38 He's feeling alive, he's feeling mean His yellow eyes are filled with hate The papers say he's a Robin Hood Mistreated and misunderstood "F*ck'em," says John Dillinger "All right," says John Dillinger
I don’t know. They both sound so uniquely good
I agree. Clawhammer seems lo lend itself better to solo playing and performing.
Kill the metronome. It is very distracting. Otherwise, nice playing
Thanks for the compliment. If the metronome is distracting while listening, how much more distracting is it to play with? Just curious.
Heck ya man… you killed it 🎉🎉 May the 4 be with you 😊
Hey, thanks for watching!
Everybody in the audience went home and threw away their guitars.
Did a fantastic job.The memorial story touched my heart.❤
So fine, David, so fine!
Great Job- I am smiling!
Just WOW!!!
The banjo man :)
