Why aren't there more recordings of brownsboro?

I just saw this video for the first time and I will say that this is one of the finest examples of military marching I have seen. I am a big fan of military drills. It is one of the hardest forms of marching. Unlike the corps styles that we see today, any little mistake shows when performing a precision drill like Brownsboro. Sad thing is that military bands will never do well at state competion. Corp style with all its props, flags and pits is in thanks to DCI (Drum Corps International). Brownsboro is far better than 18th out of 23 bands at state!!!

Nice to see how this band has grown the past 10-20 years... it was a third this size in the late '80s and mid-90s. The music is pretty difficult for class 4A... I hear many 5A military bands perform similar music. The drill to 'Slavonic' was the most difficult I've ever seen - risky - the tempo at the end went much slower than I know the director wanted. Nice band.

This is much better than the 2011, 2012 and 2014 performances from this band. Aside from the crooked lines and poor spacing at the end, the marching is good and the sound is very good. I'm guessing this group got a 1st Division Rating.

This is at better than the 2014 and 2011 performance videos from this band. The sound and marching in this performance is somewhat better, but it still doesn't sound or look great. Since this is the Area Finals I'm guessing this band got a 1st Division at region, but if I didn't know that I'd guess this performance got a low 2 or a 3. Good marching for the most part but this group doesn't sound good. Even the finale with New World Symphony sounds sloppy, and at the end it should be FFF dynamics but just sounds meh.

This is a similar drill to the 2014 contest video on here with much of the same music. Like the 2014 show, I'd guess this performance got a 3 as well. The slowed down ending to Slavonic adds nothing and the band members look awkward trying to march that slow. Marginal playing and in many places crooked lines and issues with fundamentals in the counter-marches.

I'm guessing they got a 3. Kind of a cool drill but lots of crooked lines, missed turns, and the band doesn't sound all that good. Slowing down Slavonic at the end is odd -- it didn't sound good and it accentuated some weak marching fundamentals.

I like how the band plays these long intros before they start their real march! I got the opportunity to see this years marching contest and saw y'all did another intro! Awesome job Brownsboro!! :D #bandgeek

I was at this contest and this band did really great. I bet the directors put a lot of time into this drill.

I think after 47 years, it's OK to copy somebody else. Pretty sure a lot of people also recognized this as the Irving drill, but it was executed well. Nobody complains when every other band does Texas Wraps, Blockbuster Drills, and the world-famous Fast-Break into diagonals from 6x2 company fronts, (not to mention hearing Precision Fanfare 20 times in one day,) but let an outstanding band perform one maneuver that one band did 47 years ago, and suddenly they're unoriginal.

You know what is the weirdest thing ever... This video has more views than the other marching videos of brownsboro

I only have one complaint about this performance... I wanted more! There is something very right going on at this program!

First of all, this is a top-notch performance, it deserves to be at the state level. Second of all, when the first march started, my first thought was: "MON-ty PY-thon's Flying Cir-CUS!"

It's great to see military marching at the state level...and at this quality as well...I hope they got they rating they deserve...

@nurselld Y'all were not the only military band there! China Spring was also military! We were the last band to go in the prelims. We finished 11th, and missed finals by 5 points because one of the judges didn't like military, and marked us off a bunch of points because we didn't have auxiliary.

Incredible. The band is nearly twice the size it was when I was there. It's great to see Brownsboro is still dominating after all this time.
