Nothing needs to change. I did put 8mm wheel hex's on, so it would look better with the wider body.

I like both, and they each have their strengths and weaknesses, but as a whole I think the HPI WR8 has more predictable, fluid handling and it also might be slightly more durable too.

Yes the clutch was and still is stock, i would like to get an aftermarket one from Speedworx or D&P Performance sometime down the road, probably when i getting 32 inch tires.

Only have about 400 miles on it so far. As far as issues we only had a sway bar link bolt come loose and needed replaced due to the theeads getting damaged and when i removed the wheel hubs to grease the wheel bearings the front passenger side axle nut stripped when removing it which also stripped the threads on the axle so i replaced those but i plan to try and fix the threads on the axle for a spare.

@@ngward79 Thank you. I have about 300 miles on mine. Hearing a bit of noise that most believe is the primary and say is normal. So far I love my XX.

I forget how much exactly, between $15 - $20 i think. They are only open certain weekends too as they do shooting on other weekends.

it was a great time and experience, would definitely add to a offroad bucket list ! Probably won't do it for a couple more years. Probably experience something else to check off my bucket list.

The trailer is twelve foot and has maybe a foot to spare with the XX.

The trail isn't the most difficult but does have some challenging obstacles, its very senic and very fun with enough trails that would take a few days to cover it all. Also i love the XX, it has done everything ive asked out of it and more !

It was our first time out with the machine and i think we might have put it in low for going up maybe 3 hills but that was all. Honestly it almost never needs to be in low. The XX is naturally a very high revving machine too.

Robert Hierholzer ,thanks for the link but i did see the video earlier. I've been following these guys and they have a few videos on RUclips on the XX that are good to watch.

Robert Hierholzer im sure if you wait till next year these will all be non issues. They should have any cv boot / axle problems sorted out and probably have the turbo version released too. As far as the suspension bottoming out, a bit of that can be done now with adjustments that it is capable of with raising ride height, adjusting crossover rings between the hard and soft springs and the shock dampning clickers and unless you plan on some short couse track jumps it should be fine on any trails.

ngward79 thats kinda what I was hoping. I am ready for a new machine now, its hard to wait. Hopefully a updated model will be released by next spring so I can get a whole riding season out of it. Currently in a 2016 RZR 900XC. Nice machine I am keeping it for tighter trails and let my sister drive, but I need a machine that can keep up with all the Turbos out there on fast trails.

It will definitely keep up with turbos in the trails. I have a few times. Impressed X3 and RZR turbo guys i have rode with.

Jason S. I like how It has a more car like feel in the cab with lots of room, it has the most ridged and safe frame on the market, the plush suspension is top notch and soaks up everything, the tires have good all around grip for almost any terrain, power steering is effortless, and the power is on par with any naturally aspirated motor of any competitor and I'd say even holds up with tubo cars on the low end. My only gripes are the factory head lights are weak and have a dingy light color ( we changed ours to a white LED for $75 total ) and the other issue is i wish it had a tighter turning radius. The only issue we have had is a front sway bar link nut and bolt worked its way loose and needs replaced. We love this car and wouldn't change to anything else if we could start over again.

Mike Desilets yes, we are running the front sway bar. It seems to not make as much cluncky noises as it did while we were breaking it in.

ngward79 I have heard the noise kind of goes away. It seems most people say they remove it for better articulation. If you try that and run this same type of terrain, let me know if you find much difference. Or incorporate that into your video. It would be cool if you had a little narration in your videos.

Mike Desilets of all the different complaints ive heard about the XX i have not had any of those issues. However if i had one complaint in my opinion it would be that the turning radius could be better. You learn how to drive it into the tight corners after a while and manage just fine but we sometimes still catch our selves having to backup from time to time.

ngward79 Thanks. It makes me wonder if the CV angles are close to max or if suspension geometry wont allow more angle? Perhaps the steering rack is short. Next time I'm at a dealer that has one, I'll look.

Mike Desilets one friend of the group had a four seat wildcat but was out of commission at the time. They were a great group and we all got along like we've known them for years.

Mike Desilets it's way better in person ! Of the three videos i posted I still missed some of the best trails like Pittman trail which drops deep into a valley and is so dark and cool during the day its like out of a movie spooky, but awesome too !

ngward79 Sounds neat. I may have to put that on my side by side retirement travels bucket list.

After this last trip we had put 95 miles on it ( not sure of the hours) no problems, nothing has broke and i honestly feel it could be pushed a lot harder than we are in the videos. We have drove it in mud, water, creeks, sand, gravel, hard pack and some rocks and it is a very versatile machine and we have yet to fail to make it through any obstacle we have put it through. Only two things can make it this versatile. The tires, very well rounded, not perfect at anything but good at everything. Second, the suspension, it really is awesome suspension for trail riding, smoothing out ruts and washouts so your not getting any jarring. We haven't had any real jumps in it YET ! But I've heard that it could use a stiffer upper Spring ( which is the soft spring ) which does have adjustment to make it stiffen up sooner. If your jumping from ramp to flat it could bottom out ( from what i hear ) but from slope to slope its fine. We should have our own thoughts on that by the end of summer. As far as needed upgrades, i can't think of any that are a necessity. I made my own winch mount and installed a Warn 4500 winch, that we have yet to use, side mirrors which do come in handy, Ridged light pods which are very nice for night riding but not necessary and LED head lights because the stock head lights are a warm yellow ugly Halogens. But i suppose the next thing we will do will probably be a roof to keep the mud clogs from falling on us from when we tear a$$ !

ngward79 Thank you. I have ridden dirt bikes, quads, 3 wheelers for many years. I want to buy a sxs soon. I'm really looking hard at the XX and gathering input from owners. Alternative would be rzr 1000 rock and trail or turbo. I have never driven any of them.

jworpet, it is the front sway bar sliding left to right making the clunking noise. There are a few solutions on how to fix it on the forums that are cheap and easy. Also it will probably be addressed by Textron from what ive heard. Honestly you don't notice it after a while.

ngward79 I drove a buddy's for the first time today. He had already taken the front swaybar off. I was impressed with it the little drive I took.

AngryOscar, so far we like it alot, it has plenty of power and a smooth ride. We haven't had any issues with ours. We checked axle plung which was good from the dealership so no axle issues.

ngward79 How are the engine noise levels during long rides? Does it seem to rev too high too much?

Mike Desilets the motor naturally runs high revs. It ideals at 1500 rpm. The motor is basically a yamaha snow mobile engine. It is louder than some utv's but it doesn't bother me, more like music in my mind !

How do you think a guy like myself would fit? I’m 6’5 265 I live in Ohio and my closest dealership is in Carey Ohio 2 hrs plus

tektooonik , I love my wr8 as it has held up really well for the abuse I put it through and I have only replaced steering servo, transmission bearing but recently the esc died on me after always running it on 3s battery it would over heat a lot and eventually killed it. I still have yet to brake any chassis parts though.
