That f.o.v. ooff!!!
FOV is 100 is that a lot?
Makes me really wish cargo jobs were a thing like in Stormworks or something
Should tutorials be sent to subscribers?
Has this been uploaded anywhere?
If so, then where?
I didn't upload it
That is a stunning ship, has it been added to steam workshop as well?
Not gonna' lie... I didn't realize at first that it was a small-grid ship until I saw the level of detail when the guy was running though the interior. After that, I recognized the shape of the drills. Amazing work, by the way!
prototech drill be like
I clearly predicted it😎
this is awesome, definitely going to incorporate thin in one of my builds
workshop link?
Mod io right here: mod.io/g/spaceengineers/m/crimson-drill1 Steam workshop doesn't work for me unless i remove the thumbnail
WHOOOOAAAa !!!
it kind of looks like how i imagined the clawDrill from Red Rising. really cool stuff
Question. If I change the angle of the engine rotor, does the direction of the thrust change as well?
Yup it changes So in this case the thrusters cancel each other out and their combined force ends up pushing the ship as if they were a single thruster. I don't see a reason why this wouldn't work with different angles though, normal thrusters should cancel out the thrust that goes in the wrong direction and it should work out alright.
@@SpaceGuyFalcon thanks Spaceguy, I'm wondering if I could use this for thrust vectoring
I was trying to get this to work with a gravity drive. Unfortunately it requires a separate set of generators in every direction you want to gravity "thrust" in. There is a way to reverse a generator with the ten pages of step increases on a timer but it gets messed up by dampeners when thrusters blink on and off fighting the gravity drive at slow speeds.... perhaps an event controller to turn off the gravity event controller at very slow speeds? I dunno. It was very disappointing since the generators use a lot of pcu for official servers.
I know this is probably a little expensive on pcu, dangerous and a little stupid but have you considered putting it on a rotor?
@@SpaceGuyFalconthat might resolve the issue at slow speeds because there would be a delay in engagement but the delay my suck for changing directions. It wouldn't be dangerous if you kept the generator on the moving parts and the artificial masses on the body of the ship though. It's just hard too work out.
This is the kind of up selling id be ok with
came in with my old truck, came out with a weaponized mech.
(my pfp basically)
This is actually ,,big''. Nice video. You just made a lot of people happy with this vid.👍
Thanks a lot my man!!
Mekanik
Clang have mercy, but lord knows this ship is cool.
masterpiece
11/10, came in for an oil change, left with an air superiority car
Nice design and i like the hinge/event controller method for the turrets. The tank tracks i presume are from the tank tracks mod or is it a complette vanilla design? Would you be so kind and provide us with a blueprint in the discription?
The build is fully vanilla. Oh I forgor to upload it
Trust me, I'm an engineer.
funny sounding car? TANK TREADS TIME

Thanks!
Looks like something that might be found on a nightstand.
So, essentially, clunk together from a billion blocks what Keen could have provided directly as events fireable from control blocks, just like they provided events for being target-locked or -unlocked, if they just bothered to provide an actually coherent gameplay experience. Got it.
This reminds me of good ol' days of io games. Looks fun to play! Good job 👍
I love the random, 20ft long chunk of ship breaking off and careening into the void mid explanation.

It would be really cool if the hinges could absorb the recoil from the cannons cus that looks really cool
They kinda do
When Keen doesn't bring angled thrusters, this guy does

Cool video and a cool tank! Great showcase! Keep it up!
Thanks!
I would give you more than 100 Likes if I could.
How do you program tank steering using this method, I've tried to do it myself, but could only get it to turn in circles.
The way I got my tank to work is by using a timer that triggers itself and increases propulsion of the wheels in a way that makes them spin in opposite directions, then when no thruster is firing you just use the reset propulsion. So its like 3 timers and 3 event controllers (2 timers and 2 event controllers for left and right and 1 timer and event controller for reset turning)
@@SpaceGuyFalcon I'll try that, I have a tank using rotor wheels and I want it to be WASD controlled for ease of use. (P.S. What about reverse?)
@@Giadea Oh I used the regular wheels on suspension so the reverse was done automatically for me But for reverse id imagine you just do the same thing as for turning just a thruster facing forward and the wheels spinning in the same direction
Hey dude, nice video 👍 You can expand the Thrust Control idea by adding a pair of Timer Blocks (one increases thrust override & triggers itself, the other decreases thrust override & triggers itself). Then set up those blocks to be actions for the Event Controller. That way you get your sub-grid thrust and those thrusters can still add inertial dampening to your ship rather than just getting switched on and off. I would also advise using Rotors instead of Hinges as much as possible for sub-grid thrusters. In my experience Rotors are far less clangy when the thrusters fire, hinges tend to make a lot of unpleasant noises. And also, for the love of Clang, please put Share Inertia Tensor on the last set of rotors on that monster trucks wheels, it should make them considerably less wobbly 😊
the engineer jumping bcus of clang at 2:05 is funny
I'm gonna use this to fix some of my favorite ships that got broken by the script update a few years ago
Now that is what you don't see often
Now I can finally make my rotating station move forward!
This is the kinda video that should blow up. The console players especially gonna love this
1:49 LOL.. ignore the fact that the left side is now completely gone due to angering CLANG. They were on and firing so everything was connected and not detached as you suggested in a previous comment.
The ship sounds very much like a CLANG shrine but surprisingly nothing really takes damage because of it
@1:20 i think the thrusters on the other side fell off... you can watch part of it rise up and away from the ship in the background. ..
Oh yeah I detached them to do a presentation and forgot to delete them lol
