Sandpit - Die 501
Indie-rock band from Melbourne, Australia circa 1994-1998. They released an album and two EPs (although not in that order) before breaking up. Brendan Webb sung and played guitar, Stephanie Ashworth (later of Something for Kate) played bass, and drums were filled by Paul Sciacca on the two EPs and Greg Wales on the album.

Bio: Melbourne three-piece Sandpit enjoyed only a relatively short career before the members went their separate ways. Forming in 1994, their releases spanned the area between mid-1996 and late 1998. The band are commonly described as melodic indie-pop in the vein of Sonic Youth, with the defining characteristics of their sound courtesy of vocalist/guitarist Brendan Webbs pursuit of using alte...

Aww love them! Got to see them many times back in the late 90s in Melbourne. Op-shop clothes and purple connies all the way.
i thought i had everything DC ever released but i was wrong
i think thats my favourite thing ever
I'd sell my soul to Jane Gazzo for a Sandpit reunion. On Second Thought remains one of my all-time favourite records.
wow hes got a fender maurauder(sp?) back then
I know, right. The reissue super pricey. Cool to see an old one, and associated with such a cool song.
It’s a fender maverick not a marauder

A Sandpit and Bradshaw Figure reunion tour would be great
DC3 were streets ahead of EVERYONE.
Josh Smith brought me here. . . nice!
What a line up this would’ve been - Sandpit, Incursion and SFK - can only assume Julian was still on bass at this stage. Still listening to this all these years later, fuckin love it! ✌🏼
Still listening after all these years.
Great and severely underrated band! Was lucky enough to see them a few times in the 90s and collect their releases. Fantastic to relive this on youtube!
Such a wondrous band
Thanks for the nice comments. I made a channel with all the Sandpit releases on it plus some of my solo stuff from that era. - Brendan
Do you have any live Sandpit you could upload please :D Saw you guys quite a few times around Melbourne and i remember you even did the offshore festival at torquay, you guys were a very unique adn underrated band.

Discovering sandpit was a definite high point for me.Absolute gem of a band
Best song every written
I'm one of few lucky folks in the US that discovered Sandpit. It was always a dream of mine to see them live. Thanks for posting!
Great upload man. These guys were the real deal shafted by poor timing and music taste at time. In 2016 would have been epic.
They were amazing. I miss them
A real shame
Wowsers! This is a superb discovery. What a fabulous time in the Australian sub-culture. Drop City were light-years ahead at the time. This record is an absolute unheralded gem. I remember peering down from the stair-case in absolute awe this night. Their sound was tremendous...
yessss!!!! been looking for this for ages : ) There's lots of really awesome music like this that just never goes anywhere, a shame really.
