Can I make a humble suggestion? Your website needs to be revamped for the 21st century. It looks like a 1996 GeoCities website. Great looking models, though!
Hi. None taken. The website gets a lot of criticism. However, in defence, it can show pictures of 20+ packs on the same screen. It also has photos of all 2000 packs. it works very well for us and PP customers like it. They are the priority.
15mm has ALWAYS been my favorite scale ever since being introduced to US civil war games
Looking forward to delving off into the PDFs I bought to see the changes from '1st' edition (pre 2025 edition). Thanks for the videos, definitely moves them (PBI & Architect) up in the queue!!
The heads on the lower troops look odd. I looked online and felt the same way. Hmm. Something about them feels off. Not sure what though, as though flattened. I imagine I could round them a little, with some green stuff on top.
What do you create your templates from? Cardboard?
Those privvies are fab. Glad I included a set in my recent order!
Thanks!
Well that is well done explanation. The only thing I am missing here, is an overview at the end as a list to show me what Terrain I need in total. But to do it myself, if I am not mistaken, players will need: 2x Roads 3x Objectives 6x Pieces of each: Woods, Marshes, Buildings (as any player cant take more than 3 of a type) 20x Partial scenery
Looks great I do prefer marked out tables, played a lot of Memoir44, so this looks ideal for what I want from a game
Just got the 2025 PBI and have a question about assets.... some companies have excellent numbers (10+) on some assets.... if an asset comes in the first time it's rolled for and there are dice left, can it be rolled for again in subsequest turns (can't find this in the rules book) (having rewatched this video, with the reference to the possibility of 7 snipers at the end, it seems that that is the answer... assets can be used a number of times if dice rolls are lucky!)
Those Italian mortars have got to get some better dice!
At the end, when the two bases moved up to the BUA square the PC was in they used 1 (leaving an open square) of the 5, could they have not also shot or removed the last casualty? All you showed was the guy that wasn't moved, to prevent reaction crowding fire, shooting at the guys in the woods. Sorry for the wordy question, just trying to see if I understand correctly. TIA
When it says, Fx 3-6 Rifle, does that mean 3-6 figures/miniatures (so 1-2 bases), or 3-6 bases with 3+/- men to a base?
Good question. PBI always talks in terms of "bases". Thus, a "normal" platoon has 6 rifles (bases) 3 LMG (bases) and an officer (base). This gives 10 bases= abut 27 figures.
Excellent. Love the privies!
Exciting! Don't suppose those of us who previously ordered both PDFs (2015) get a voucher or discount? <wink>
I am interested in PBI to finally do something with the Peter Pig Japanese and Dutch I have been collecting. I had some ideas about what I would do so started collecting the figures in anticipation I would work the rest out later. Being that I want to do the Far Eastern campaign in the Dutch East Indies, Timor and New Guinea, I think company level in potentially thick terrain is the way I want to go. Minimal tanks and artillery as well. PBI looks like it will fit the bill. I wonder how it will perform when most squares are jungle?
This is an excellent series of videos on how a rule set works. Turns it into a series of easily-accessible "ready-reference" sheets. Looking forward the hard-copy rule set's release.
Great stuff.
Looks very nice!
Nice build.
Why did the british not take morale in this example? They have no officer and two causalities. This is two problems. Also what benefit is their to taking cover in buildings for foot bases being shot at?
Hello Les I was not concentrating/demonstrating on morale so chose not to mention it. Taking cover in buildings is great. Taking cover in buildings = 2,3,4,5,6 save. In buildings at short range and not taking cover = 3,4,5,6 save. martin
@@peterpigwargamesco Ok thanks. Sorry to point out about morale, I just did not understand. Still good bit sized look at the changes in the rules.
Nice way of handling it..... do light mortars also get smoke, and what about vehicle mounted smoke dischargers (won't be getting the rules until tuesday!)
Yes light mortars get smoke. it will not stay very long though. Light mortars are a generic category. No vehicle smoke dischargers in the rules.
Seems like a fun and fast system Any plans for expansion for modern, or even scifi, combat?
SCi fi is on its way. The company Rules (TCR). AK47 is sort of modern but not Western armies. Out early this year too. martin
@peterpigwargamesco nice
Looking forward to try out the game. Any plans on a digital tool for army list making?
No plans at the moment. It is pretty quick and easy though. martin
@peterpigwargamesco ok. If you need inspiration for a tool at some point, try taking a look at Tabletop Admiral for SW Legion, really nice tool. Or ask the guy who made it, he might add a PBI version (:
Building your company is so easy. You don’t need a special app or complex spreadsheet.
Nice series on the game. Are there rules for fog of war?
Say more please?
@peterpigwargamesco thinking something like not knowing what units are placed different places, before first fire, or will the piggy chase cover this?
do either of the books contain scenarios
No scenarios because the rues generate them each game. This allows a 100 games to be played and they are all different. I have played over 500 games using pBI 2025. All different. Both players contribute to everything. That is good. martin
@@peterpigwargamesco Understood thanks, I have liked all the pre battle mini campaigns in all you games
Martin is right about the rules generating different games. I’ve played PBI hundreds of times over 12 years and i still marvel at how each game feels unique.
Happy new year. Always up for trying out a new rule system and 15mm is a great scale for company level, a size that is seen far too rare.
Good man martin
Loving this, can't wait until I can get the PDF's over the next few days and get on the table!
Should be out tomorrow. Thanks martin
A useful series of videos. Thanks. Perhaps you could one day produce something similar for samurai and the Age of Battles rules. I have had my armies painted for more than ten years now but have never really got around to playing the rules to full effect.
I agree it does need to be done martin
Morale in PBI is straightforward and quick to apply in the game. Two problems = roll 2d6 needing 9+. Fail that and risk 4 bases (4d6 4+ means lost). It takes less game time to do than the time to read this sentence. I like it as you get the feeling of a platoon fading away as men go to ground, cease reacting to orders.
Love how you've presented this ruleset, can't wait to get a copy!
Thank you! martin
The piggy chase really works. It is so simple. Perhaps seems childlike at first. But it produces great tension and decision making. Do I bank where I am but risk my opponent getting more points and maybe passing me? Or do I go for it and try to get a big win for the advantages that brings into the game? Also, if you really want to attack or defend then winning the piggy chase is necessary to ensure you get the choice, not your opponent. Simple mechanic, takes just a few minutes, but brings tension, excitement and sets the game up nicely.
Agreed. martin
Out of curiosity, and I know you guys have a lot on your plates with all of the ranges and rules lol, would you guys ever do French Indochina?
Where's the mex rev vidios
Stellar idea on the zebra countdown! The ruined trucks (clean and more "correct" versions) will have plenty of uses.
Looking great!
Cool zebras. As for the Toyotas, I'm not adverse to more up to the present time wars, but I recognize that this is just me.
Looking forward to the new AK version!
All good stuff Martin. I was sorry to read of your recent health scare. Glad you seem on the mend!
The Zee-braz look great when painted. Forgive my yank pronunciation.
It takes all stripes.
A nice release of useful items.
Thank you.
I love your cute and superb zebras, great job!
Thanks all martin
Great to see your ramble this morning Martin.
Ta
Hi again, sorry for so many questions, what is the diameter of the bases and sabots you are using?
What are the bases you are using for the platoons, looks like a 2 minis on a circle base but then they are in flames of war style bases?
Could you please tell us more about how the minis are based? Is there a specific base system/requirement or can we use whatever bases?
very quiet, thought it would be louder
That's what use for team yankee marines awesome quality,, excellent scale
These shanty buildings will go nicely with the AK47 buildings you have already made. With the corrugated style these would go with your WW2 buildings as out buildings and workshops.
Lovely terrain, and a nice paint job to boot. These'll have to find some space in my budget.
OMG, I must have them!!!
