1) DPF, dual mass flywheel, injectors, all the common rail diesel stuff will "break" like any common rail diesel does. Or the older 2.4L Duratorq. DPF lasts ~125k KM, injectors ~200k or so, etc. If you get black smoke, just take the van / vehicle to a diesel specialist. Yes, those companies are a thing, and they can diagnose the whole common rail system. They can also repair whatever is at fault for much cheaper. 2) There is a serial problem with the 2.2L Transit, the MAF sensor (mass air flow), it's a cheap part, can be replaced within 10 minutes (google how). It occurs at 30k KM roughly. 3) USE QUALITY DIESEL. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. This is the most critical. Do NOT use these "a bit cheaper" stations. It's not worth it man. They mess up your injectors, the CR system, and in the cold, they can leave you stranded. Trust me, I've been there. DEFINITELY NOT FUN to travel ~200km with about 30-50km/h. Use known brand stations like Shell, and DO use so-called Premium Diesel when weather gets below -5C, -10C.

I have a Transit from 2006 that sometimes looses all power when taking of. I then stop the engine and start again and it is okay fro a while when it will do it again. I replaced all filters. What can be wrong. Is it the ECU?
