as unrealistic as the police charge is when you think about it (not using guns, police look clean shaven and healthy despite months underground, running directly at people with machine guns) --> i think this medieval imagery is still epic and highlights batman as some sort of dark angel that gives men the hope and courage they need to fight an unstoppable enemy
