This was a few years ago and I guess they are still looking for the first officers with honor and integrity. They obviously do not train officers on the 1st, 4th, and 5th Amendments.

Trooper's are a need for the State of Alabama, if they would amend the age to be 19 you would have guaranteed and dedicated young men who want to make a change for our community's.

For everyone who wish to join ALEA at a young age I suggest do what I might do very shortly after high school graduation to join your local county jail and do corrections as it's mainly 18 to join, it will give you a heads up and extra training of what you can expect right away apart from the firearms training.

I'll be 17 in July, but I'm already working on preparedness for when I'm of age to apply for ASP. Already doing a lot of work with my sheriff's department, learned alot so far and have gained a lot of experience. Looking forward to a future in the ALEA.
