A quality piece that. How is Townsend analysing that tackle "he got a bit of the ball". haha. Dion's assist was world-class! That last touch. What a header as well. Dion, what a guy.
It shows how great Hendry was at the time that Ray Edmunds still believed Hendry would be back to win his 7th and David Vine believed it would be next year or the year after, something it was.
Quality line about the Dugout 😂 the boy Lineker loves a pun
Thái thắng rồi vẫn chạy gom bóng để cho indo gỡ hòa hay sao á. @@
He wasn't as good as alot of people remember, nostalgia, not a patch on Brian Little, NOT A PATCH!!!
Two howlers from Myhre hugely cost us in this. The first was unforgivable, I was right behind that goal. No wonder he barely played for us again.
Looks older than late 80s tennis .. dont u miss vhs
My 7th birthday! Manchester United beat Chelsea 1-0 in the 12.30 kick off that day, all the more memorable as Phil Neville scored the winner!
Statistically, Gregory was the greatest Villa manager. Uni has a chance to eclipse this. We will wait and see. 👏👏👏👏
God Bless and RIP Doug Ellis. Aston Villa’s most recent success has come under his ownership. Great childhood memories for me growing up 80s/90s supporting Villa. Now with NSWE and Super Unai Emery, we are about to bring the good times back to B6! UTV!
The honesty of those interviews with Little, Gregory aad Deadly.... just wouldn't get that nowadays.
Neither were pens. Dublin should take up selling homes. Andy Townsend a sham of a player!
Become an even bigger Ken Doherty fan as I’ve seen and heard more from him as a commentator and pundit very knowledgeable on the game and a great bloke aswell
Has anyone watched the full match? Was hendry having an off day or was ken that good?
The same person completeing 5 world championship titles on the trot at the Crucible is impoasible now.
PS if you do,I could maybe swap another match with you if you didn't want to upload it?
Cheers mate,do you have the rest of this match at all please?
I felt very disappointed that Gregory didn't go on to have further success after managing Villa... Cos he really knew what he was doing... Many. Maybe it was due to him being so familiar with Villa, I don't know - but John aays came across as a very confident man who knew his own mind. Who knows, but I appreciated his time at Villa... Shoulda won that awful FA Cup final though 😉
I remember this like yesterday I was 17 at time im 42 now.ive had so many found memories of watching these players over years gone by. There isn't any losers in snooker anyone who can get onto a tv stage win of loose is a person who can play
Great footage.
Thriller
Annoyingly Chelsea would win that year's CWC
The one thing or the last thing Doug would do would be to sack Brian Little. He was like a father to him!
Who chose that god awful title music?
Well Done!!! Ken Doherty🔥🔥❤️❤️🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀❤️💕🍀🌍🌍🌍🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀❤️🍀🍀
Two of the ultimate ambassadors and pros
Nice bloke Ken but probably one of the worst players to win the world championship
There's no such thing as a bad world professional snooker champion.

Saturday 7th March 1998
Loved him as a manager for Villa. John Gregory was brilliant manager deserved more than the Intertoto Cup win. Had a great squad and some epic games under his reign. Happy days.
One of my favourite sporting memories. It was such a novelty to have a lad from the Republic competing at the highest level of snooker (we haven't had one since) but Ken always seemed to come up short - usually against the unstoppable force that was 1990s Stephen Hendry. I watched that entire final from start to finish and I remember my excitement starting to build at the thought that he might actually do it and beat Hendry at the Crucible, which most people probably considered impossible at the time. There was huge explosion of joy when he won that final frame. Ken was a deserving champion and he remains hugely popular in his homeland.
Legend what s shot yellow down to the loose red.ttev
That crackle on the VHS adds even more tension to this tense final.. Hitchcock would have been proud
when ken won the worid title, a couple of days later he appeared at an old irish pub in shepherds bush [swateleys off the goldhawk road] no one thought hed turn up as this had been booked weeks before, turn up he did thoroughly lovely fella and great fun! does anyone else remember this?
Bluenose brotherhood, I suppose (ultra)... Villa's infra, always in front... END
The Coca-Cola cup winners, Aston Villa (strong)... Brian Little, good manager... The difference is work ethic & credit (Gregory's Villa at-the-end of the day)... END
Word is that sound sync is still to reach our ears on the final shot
Poorly lit dingy little cave.

Ken Doherty- An Irish sporting hero when we had nothing else to shout about
Really? When Ken won in 1997, the country was going through an economic boom and we had several relatively successful years of sport, e.g the soccer team, Michelle Smith at the Atlanta Olympics in '96 (before her reputation was done for).
@@GodOfVictory501 Yes really. By 1997 our soccer team were well on the way down, and it was 2000 before the rugby bandwagon started. Ken was at the top of his game from the early 90s until around 2010. Yes, we had the odd individual that did well (Sonia O'Sullivan, Padraig Harrington etc) but none had the longevity of Ken
And mentioning Michelle Smith? Christ...
@@michealhealy2846 Nah, your original comment sounds like Ken's win was some sort of bright spot in a sea of collective misery, which wasn't really the case. And it's inaccurate to say Ken was still at the top of his game until around 2010. The WC final in 2003 was pretty much the end of his heyday.
@@GodOfVictory501 You know nothing about snooker
Do you have any more BBC bulletins please
Bertie comments at the end that electing a new Government would be disastrous for the economy🤣
Blue shirt bastards
Dion Dublin 🤣🤣🤣
😂
Ken missed too many long balls here .he could have had this one really as mark was off and on form .
This was the first match in years & years whereby Hendry started to make unforced errors.
