Thank you so much! Watching it tommorow and this really helped.
Glad it helps
The heads up about loud bangs and gun sightings was made for me! Thanks
Glad to help
Purchasing tickets for a scheduled trip to London before this closes. My husband is 6'3"--very tall. We want to sit because of length of the show. Is there sufficient leg room in front row of stalls and galleries? Are second row seats tight on leg room? Cheers for your review.
I'm a big austen fan, I could never get tired of pride and prejudice so this is the dream. however I don't live in the uk so my possibilities of seeing this are low
Hey, I was wondering if you still have your vlogging channel at all? Miss your videos x
As a resident of the USA, I wasn't able to get over the pond to see this production. But, I have not heard a single bad review. Imelda is an incredible talent -- she can do anything and do it better than anyone. I appreciate the fact that you as a young person are trying to educate yourself in what I call the classic musicals. One thing you didn't mention is that it is really the story of a woman overcoming great grief in her life. Keep on attending the theatre. I envy you seeing Hello Dolly.
Planning for visit to London for the first time, thx for the helpful video:)
Hello new subscriber here. Fabulous video review. Hello Dolly is soul lifting goodness I agree! Keep the great videos coming 🙌
Thanks and welcome 😊
I was at the 3rd preview and loved it ngl I am also gutted they cut Fearless as it is one of my favs numbers. I saw it on Broadway with the Original Cast and they were all fantastic. NGL After the I came out the first time seeing it in London I forgot about the new song Blowing Up but I went back a few weeks ago and remember little bits of it not a lot. I just hope we get an up to date Cast Recording with the UK Cast, even if it's a live recording I'll be happy with it. I love this show and will defo be back again great review :)
Hi. Sad to see a video with no comments, so . . . I'm not a nervous person, very free and easy, but I have to agree that the Barbican Centre is very difficult to get to by Underground. I appreciate it's designed to be part of the community, in the centre of everything, but it's not well signposted and usually I end up getting off at Barbican Station, then walking through that dingy underpass. Okay if noisy and dark during the day, it's quite an ordeal at night. On the day I went to see Kiss Me Kate, all the lines through Barbican were closed and I had to take the Elizabeth Line from Liverpool Street to Farringdon. Luckily, Farringdon's only a few yards from Barbican so it all worked out okay. On the way back I had some time so I thought I'd find a better way back. If you go out to where the gardens and water features are, then take the steps that go up to the left of the Barbican Centre, you can take just a short walk through the residential area and come out virtually opposite the station. Much nicer than that underpass. On my visit all those toilets were open (well, the men's were . . . I'm sure the ladies' were too). The trouble is, if you're up in one of the circles it seems to take such a long time to go down flight after flight of steps that the interval is nearly over when you get there. And then you remember there's a lift . . . I've sat in the stalls and in the circle, and there's not really a bad seat. A tip for a great seat with a great view that's often cheap: Upper Circle, rows CC, BB or AA. The circle narrows to a point, almost overhanging the side of the stage, and you're not surrounded by people: CC has three seats, BB has one, and AA has one (on both sides of of the theatre of course). So if you're on your own you can sit in AA1 or BB1 all by yourself with bags of room and - in AA - no one in front but the actors. Wide seats too for the, um, less svelte theatre-goer. Like me. Nothing fazes me (I saw Slave Play the other week! I saw Medea!) but I'm sure your warnings are useful. I don't remember any whip . . . I had a great time at Kiss Me Kate. Not as good as Guys and Dolls, which is the best musical I've seen for ages, but excellent nonetheless. Charlie Stemp a bit wasted, maybe. The gangsters were great and Georgina Onuorah as Lois was amazing. And I got to see another Doctor, #5, Peter Davison, on stage, which alone made the visit worthwhile. (I'm slowly 'collecting' all the living Doctors. It's a thing.) Nice video.
I saw this on Broadway in NYC at the Imperial Theater a few years ago. Words can not express how fantastic it was, every performer was on top off their game. I just got tickets to see it again in October at the Ordway Theater in St. Paul, MN. If you get the chance go see it, It's worth every penny.
Great review!
This was really interesting - thanks! I have always wondered where the standing section is at the Fortune
Glad it was helpful!
It's really great to get a review of the overall experience and trigger warnings, for neurodiverse and others. Not something many other reviewers do. You come across really well. I've subscribed and will catch up on your other reviews.
I was there for the saturday night and it was insane
I sat in the 4th row in stalls. This is the last row and unfortunately from this row, it's virtually impossible to see the neon signs, so I wish I'd got a seat a row or 2 further forward. Standing sounds even better, but my back starts bothering me after just 10 min. so it's probably not a good idea for me.
Are you able to sneakily take an empty seat if you don't feel like standing the whole time or are ushers likely to keep an eye out?
The thing with standing is that they’re normally released now when the show is sold out or nearly sold out so finding an empty seat would be hard. I didn’t find standing too uncomfortable but my recommendation is to sit in the bar area before the show and have a little stretch in the interval
@@openroadstheatreseats Yeah, I found out. Saw the show from dress circle last week. Maybe my expectations were too high but I came away a bit disappointed.
Sorry to hear that @@Armadillo312
A very important story and you are certainly very passionate about it 🙂
Hello 👋
Hi
Hi, on which site can you book the standing tickets?
Through the operation mincemeat website. They often become available once the show is sold out
Absolutely love this show. We were in Wolves for the Saturday early show right down the front. It was phenomenal.
Rocky horror picture show ❤
Thank you for this informative video. I´m going to London in May and really considering this hotel. Did you ask for a room that was not facing the streets?
I didn’t ask for anything, I merely took the room I was assigned
This show is my obsession I sat in front row both times in London
Hahah one for the Nans😂 Unhinged? HOW RUDE, the only thing unhinged is you not marrying Charlie Stemp, have you seen how flexible he is!?!
But I thought I’d leave him for you
gracias, estoy por reservar en ese hotel y tu video me ayudó mucho, gracias desde Argentina!💟
Glad it helped
Staying at this hotel in April. I'm super excited. Going to watch The Play That Goes Wrong. What were the noise levels like (being so close to a busy road)?
I had no road noise issues. Unsure lower down but where we were there was no problem
@@openroadstheatreseats It's not just road noises that I've had problems with at other hotels (not Premier Inns), it's more noisy guests. But thank you for the reply.
@@Timalay Honestly it was a quiet night, no noisy neighbours or other guests. The noisiest thing for me was the air-con system which was relatively quiet I just can't function with it on
@@openroadstheatreseats I'll be staying in April, so hopefully shouldn't need the air-con.
I stayed there twice before but the prices seem to have skyrocketed since. How much did you pay per night please
Each trip to this hotel is a different price. I agree that the prices have gone up over the last few years. This trip was a few years so I can’t recall the price but sometimes you can get deals by joining their membership scheme or via a website like hotels.com
Ah, how incredible of an experience 😄
It was!
Claire I really enjoy your Theatre programmes review of last year 2023 are you going to be filming a video of which shows that you would like to watch this year in 2024 I am already looking forward to the next 12 months of seeing all the reviews of thearte shows that you go and watch Happy New year and have a Great 2024
I did. Sorry for the delay in replying to comments
Just loved your experiences of Guys and Dolls. Yes, have seen twice. Seated adjacent to band, gallery 1 and also standing. Yes, the immersive was a wonderful theatre experience. Guys and Dolls at the Bridge . . . Fabulous, go and see.
Happy new year 🎊
We're so pleased you enjoyed the show!
I always enjoy my time at the rep. I will be returning for the final show in January
Happy Christmas Clare!
Merry Christmas 🤶
Opn! top traveler- sleep well, 😇
I saw £20 tix once and never saw it again
I haven't looked for a while, is 20 pound standing tickets not a thing now?
Inês Fernandez 👍. I agree they needed more story, and they should have stayed away from politics. I cried when she danced with her Dad.
Good to see you back making more videos Clare 🙂
Thanks! 😊 Hopefully more to come soon
This is going to be a good one. The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe was a favourite of mine as a kid.
The show is a thing of joy and beauty
I really hope to see this huge fan of amber never been able to see her live. Maybe it depends what theatre has a trap door thing
Maybe but I feel like it may have just been removed for the tour.
Hi! Was the bed comfortable and strong Wi-Fi signal?
From memory yes on both counts
Thank you as I have already booked this hotel😊😊
Hope it helped 😊
I went last Tuesday night did the immersive. Really enjoyed but did feel a bit dizzy with the stage moving when I didn't expect it. Last time I did seating and enjoyed both. You shoukd try both experiences. I have hip issues but didn't find the standing for 2 1/2 hours an issue.
I have tried both now. I did Standing first and then this second time I did seated and enjoyed both
When it says immersive, how immersive is it? I want to book this ,with the standing how close to the stage is it? I'm only 5ft ,sorry for the questions
Hi Claire would it be possible if you could do another update theatre programmes collection thank you
I will do one at the end of the year in a round up
@@openroadstheatreseats look forward to the video thank you so much
I really enjoyed seeing Crazy For You at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London on 19th July 2023, it was sensational and Charlie Stemp was fantastic plus after the matinee I had a selfie with him and he signed the programme as well
Great review! I’m going at the end of October. Heard that they would do a recast on 13rd Oct. Hope it will go well
Have fun!
Good 💯 video
The trailer look half good half bad
There is elements of good in the show…
White wine in the sun is iconic
it truly is
Great review. Thanks. You're right - it's amazing! Funny, witty, interesting, and also bonkers - in a good way. I have never before booked to see a show multiple times, but I've taken different groups of family and friends to see this six times so far. So far... But always on Monday or Tuesday, as the ticket pricing is insane at weekends.
I’m currently looking at a return. But yes I’m definitely looking at a Tuesday as it’s a lot better pricing
