Ride along on this historic Commemorative Air Force C-47. She led paratroopers on D-Day, and is fully restored today. Also featured is a B-24, and FiFi, the B-29. Thank you to all the staff and crew at the Commemorative Air Force for making this flight truly memorable.

I bought a used boat with the Johnson 90hp outboard. I asked the seller and he said the water pump was done 2 years ago so I bought a kit and replaced it. Got the lower unit to bolt back up but I find that the shift linkage doesn't line up to the pin. Now I will have to see if I can twist the linkage to line up.

You missed an o-ring that fits below the impeller on the driveshaft.

I don't see a bloody thing, as to how the top of Shift Rod is disconnected. Then how do you reconnect it?
That’s not loud at all. Go to the Cessna 185s taking off from Johnson Creek if you want to hear loud.

@@lakesideview1181 That rear window has been updated, it didn't come out of the factory with that style. The one piece speed slope windshield is an update also.

Yes, and the pilots are friendly and helpful with any questions about their aircraft. There is even a Falcon 10 pilot who let me inside to view the interior of his updated jet.
I have the same motor I believe so I just need to loosen all bolts then pull cotter pin then push it towards the starter side?
If you are referring to the top if the gear shift rod, that would be correct.

I have to do that myself check the water pump , compression and bottom unit oil .
I am learning as much as I can from you tube and will get lesson from mechanic on the rest . I know alot but there's always a friend who can help you learn alot more, once you get started.
Motor has to be shifted into reverse to get at the gear shift pin... You have unlock the old impeller from the shaft by twisting it the right direction & likewise you have to lock the new impeller to the shaft by rotating it the reverse direction. I hope you greased the driveshaft splines well...
Well, I put my 1994 90 hp Evinrude into Reverse. I could barely find and see the top of Shift Rod, let alone having any idea how to disconnect it and be able to reconnect it without dropping at screws and/or pins down into motor!!!!!!!!! I love how every video just blows right over this part. You say you are pointing out and seeing the top end of Shift Rod disconnected, in the video, but I don't see anything!!!!!
I guess he put the center O-ring inside the housing before putting in the cup. That is a very important part that was passed over in this video. And I have yet to see a video where they match up the water pump outlet with the upper water pipe when putting the lower unit back on. Mess that up and you have to take it back apart. And, it ain't easy to do.

@@lakesideview1181 which way was does the offset in the shift shaft go? I got reconnected but not shifting right.
@@philspringer9066 Be sure you did not change the shaft length adjustment on the lower unit. Hope this helps.

How do I find or order the pump, does it have a part number
This video left out so many subtle but important aspects of the job. Too little discussion and the music too loud and distracting. Why bother to do the video. I was really looking forward to something I could refer to. Sorry to be so blunt.
Music was from the shop stereo, I had no control over it. I could not get a bright enough light to show the shift lever with the camera I was using. I realize the video could have been more detailed, it was my first DYI, with as much information I was able to record without getting in the way of the mechanics.

How did you get the drive shaft to fall freely I have been having problems with that
95 JOHNSON 70 hp water pump bad 6bolts outshift rod disconnected I think I did everything its moving 1quarter inch down at back the front is loose but just won't drop can you help me

Also the Cessna has 2800rpm at takeoff that’s why it’s very loud!
Correct, the tips of the props go faster than the speed of sound, this makes tons of mini sonic booms and that creates the loud drone affect
