Canning Spaghetti Sauce
Fresh out of the garden: my tomatoes, peppers, garlic, basil, parsley, and celeriac greens. The onion and ginger came from the grocery store.

Harvesting on a rainy day
Просмотров 1022 часа назад
I had to pick the butternut squash earlier than planned because a couple started to split and the vines were rotting away from the constant rain. But there may be some more if the frost keeps away until late October. Still getting lots of tomatoes, peppers and good amount of green beans. I just wish there was sunshine again! #gardening #homegrown
Crispy shrimp with spicy sweet creamy sauce

So much going on with the taste and the texture in this super quick dish. Does not take long to serve it piping hot on a cool bed of shredded lettuce. Enjoy at least once a week!
Restoring rusty antique tiny pitcher.

This was the cheapest thing, probably, in the largest antique center in the USA, in Springfield, Ohio. Turned out cute. Adding it to the collection of small pewter kitchen ware for decoration only.

I had some frozen spinach from last year's harvest that I wanted use up for a delicious treat. More recipes are coming as I am using up the other frozen vegetables.
Canning Lecso. Hungarian pepper and tomato stew.
Просмотров 10221 час назад
This is one of my favorite dishes to make at the height of summer. Canning them gives me a taste of summer deep into the winter. All I do is scramble 3-4 eggs into and a pint of lecso which makes two big servings. Typically for breakfast but its great for any meal. #homegrown #cooking
Harvesting butternut squash

Leaving a few behind to ripen a little more but the ripe ones needed to come off as we are expecting rain all week and I don't want them to be sitting on the muddy ground.
Canning green beans - keeping it green. Beginner level canning with detailed instructions.
Просмотров 148День назад
After a nice harvest I make every effort to preserve the green beans as soon as possible, at the peak of their freshness. Canning takes time commitment, from beginning to end it will be 2-3 hours for a canner fully loaded, processed, and cooled. If you are planning to can multiple batches, that is a whole day process. But it sure worth it when you pop the seal in the middle of winter! #canning

Thank you! 😊
What temperature is the oven please?
350F or 180 Celsius
If you cut your butter that small you can just grate it.
Yes. You would probably need to freeze the butter first.
❤❤
Thank you!
I would add the entire 8 ounces of cheese. Love mac & cheese.
That's the way to go! Can't have too much cheese.

Sorry about that. I need to invest in a microphone.

I was just thinking it must be cooler there for your vegetables to thrive. And your skill, of course.
It is now below 80 versus having upper 90s for weeks. Thank you!

When will trees be cut down again? I've been looking forward to the video for a long time

Looks like the vineboarer got your zucchini but you what an awesome harvest still. Tfs 👍👍
Yes, thank you
Great haul. Loads of meals there. Well done! ❤😊
Thank you! 🤗
Lovely!
Thank you!
take a spoon to scrape out the seed cavity. Do not think you have enough vinegar to safely can this. Not enough acidity to be safe
I will test the ph and let you know
PH was a little high so added more vinegar to the next batch to keep it around 3
Nice❤Good morning sister❤❤
Same to you
They aren't suffering they are making use of the water plant the stems that have roots coming out
Good to know, thanks.
Great job 👍🏼. Good on you for having a go…. Looks good

Do You have any canning recipe like this for zucchini or squash ? This is Wonderful. Taste is Great. Greatly Appreiated.
Not yet! Don't have enough zuccini growing in my garden.
Thank You. Greatly Appreciated.
Nice.
Thank you! Cheers!
✌✌👍👍
Thanks
Do not like yor recepe and it took forever to see the final results.Too simply.Cucumbers love dill and it should be a thick salad not swimming in too much liquid. Not impressed and why would you use a strainer at and to cach some seeds whyle you already have hundreds in the jars, plus 15 minuts boiling them is too long.5 min.is enaugh just to seal them.Good luck.
Thanks for the comment. This recipe is a take on the Hungarian style cucumber salad.
No water bath is a minimum of 10 minutes or more it depends on the altutude where you live . where I live is over 5000 feet above sea level and we have to water bath for 15 to 25 minutes
I've used a garrage door spring in with the rope to keep rope tight and pulling
Great idea. I do have a come-along but it has a limited range of tightening. I need one of those perpetual one where the cable never runs out.
@@LakeCabin that would be a great idea! Have you ever watched the Finnish lumberjack? He uses a tree pusher to take down trees, I bought a type lll RH pusher to take down a 120+’ Doug Fir 30 inch’s at the stump by myself ( homeowner) and no wedges! It’s kind of pricey but I’ve since used it numerous times and didn’t have to hire it out.new sub here, keep the videos coming!☮✌🏻
Way to go! The only way to learn is to get up and do it. Great to see a women take initiative
Be especially careful with the top handle saws, as they kick back easier and more violently
Absolutely!
Safety first! This has an anti-kick back cover on its "nose." I can remove it if I need to plunge cut, which I would not even try.
Nice Felling firewood aplenty
Yes, thanks
@@LakeCabin Your Welcome
