It's funny, I've heard at least a half dozen recordings of this piece on RUclips, and under each video commenters say that the particular recording is the best of all time. But I can't say I blame them, as I'm always left with the same feeling! Truly a beautiul piece in its simplicity. I did notice, however, rather sudden and considerable variations in dynamics and tempo throughout the piece. Is this a particular type of performance practice or simply the taste of the conductor?

I am portuguese but, for some reason, I was always passioned for Eastern Europe's traditions, music, etc. Now I know why: I've got slavic blood too running in my veins. This Serbian voices make me goosebumps! 😍

I can't make out what he is saying in the beginning, but the rest of the chant sounds like Russian to me. Good voices don't necessarily make a good choir. The opening is shockingly undisciplined. It is an untidy performance throughout.
