Hi! Thanks so much for your comment! 🤍 so excited for your upcoming trip! We had left much earlier because we were pretty exhausted from our morning so we took the afternoon to rest on the ship at the spa! But I believe we had until 5:00p to return back to the port! I would assume that Norwegians transportation would be much more effective and quicker. The trains took a bit longer. And from what we heard from other guests, it also delayed some guest expectedly so it’s not always dependable.

mireyadarlin, thank you for your sweet comment! We actually did not book our excursion through Norwegian directly. I’ve linked our trip advisor excursion in the bio! We actually had Norwegian guests on the same excursion and saved money through booking third party. And our guide was very aware of time and ensured we were back to the port with time!

Pamela Coleman so excited for your upcoming trip! We booked the cheaper train and it was I think €20-25 round trip for 2 people. However, the route took twice as long verses going through the express train (which we meant to do, but didn’t by mistake). So the express train is €15 per person one way I believe and I would recommend that route so your commute is 40 minutes verses the 1.5 hours we had! 😬 I think it definitely could be possible to see all 3 landmarks, but be prepared to leave the port of civitavecchia right away! It was an early day for us for sure! 🙂

Pamela Coleman Norwegian will provide a complementary bus from the boat to the end of the port because it is a longer port than most. From there it’s about a 15-20 minute walk to the train station. We had googled walking directions and it was straight forward & the area was very quiet so not a lot traffic in the port. We didn’t get a taxi to the train station because there weren’t many out and the cab drivers wanted to take us all the way into Rome for €100 per person.
