At 1835 hours on Friday, November 22, The Bedford Hills Fire Department was alerted to a structure fire within the Kasho Complex. Car 2031 arrived on scene within 3 minutes of dispatch and located a 60x80, 3 story OMD with heavy smoke from the basement apartment. Car 2031 transmitted a 10-75 (working fire assignment) due to the type of occupancy, lack of municipal water supply and limited access to the complex itself. Using a 2.5 gallon water can, Car 2031 was able to reset the fire and gain control of the door to the fire apartment. Engine 198 arrived on scene and deployed a pre-connected 300' 1-3/4" crosslay, quickly suppressing the flames and containing the fire to the room of origin. ...
