    couldn't have been his horrendous and at times downright dangerous behaviour He pushed a competitor and could have killed him, dude was worldclass for sure but don't you ever think maybe they didn't want a dangerous and unstable man who puts other in danger around??

    Nice video! Been running this program for the last year for squats and deadlifts i add 15-20lbs to my max each cycle lol Its great! i don't use the bench though its not great tbh, i run Greg Nuckols 3x a week bench program.

    I've started with this program today. The Squat and DL felts good, but I feel the extra two optional workouts are not enough.

      Its about accumulative fatigue. Run the program for 3-4 months as is and then make a decision. The program is designed for you to get stronger not gain mass. Im on my feet all day up and down ladders and lifts. I stuck to the program and my only 2 optional lifts were single leg glute bridges and single leg standing hip abductions. The volume is plenty. Im on month 3 and just in the first two month Ive added 20 lbs on my squat and DL.

    Only thing i think should be corrected, is the 3's should be done first. 1x3, then 7x2 for example. Then 2x3, 6x2. and onwards. Doug did it this way. Reason being, taking the higher rep set while freshest. And...its great you outlined the two programs separately! Doug recommended at a later stage to do it the way you suggest - Run the powewr phase out until stall essentially, the switch to the pump phase and do likewise!

    Weird. I’ve got two different ones, from t nation and lift vault , both are 8*2 and adding 1 rep every workout , once 8*3 is reached , starting weight should be increased. Where is this decreasing sets came from ? Thanks

      Look for the conversation featuring a guy called Twiceborn. Best peice on Hepburn training ever IMO, becuase it comes from a guy who spoke with Doug and put together the plan between them.

    Hey man recently found your website and was looking thro the programs. Question is what would be a good one to run for where im at - 42/m 6ft 180. Been lifting for years and was once 210lbs and alot stronger. But did some extreme dieting,injuries and havent been able to get back to where i was at. My 1RM are : bench 250, DL 350, OHP 140, Squat (im not sure as ive had groin issue and only able to do moderate weight hack squats on smith machine or leg press). I was looking at the 16 week calgary barbell program or GZCL. Or with my lift number should i be running one of the novice 3 days per week SBD routines? Any advice would be appreciated thanks

      @@0Fallen0 pretty well. Body weight of 195lb stayed the same. Beginning: Squat: 315lb Bench: 280lb Deadlift: 335lb End Cycle 1: Squat: 330lb (15lb increase) Bench: 285lb (5lb increase) Deadlift: 355lb (20lb increase) My squats and deadlifts made nice progress, but my bench didn't. I noticed during the cycle that the bench volume never felt like enough, and I wasn't ever truly fatigued. For cycle 2, I'm replacing the bench program with Greg Nuckols' intermediate 3x/week bench program. Hoping to see a lot more gains from my bench by doing this.

    Going to be trying this program out today, do you think this volume is safe coming from 5day PPL for about 1.5 years? Also would it be fine to still train the OHP in this rep/set scheme even though I’ve never trained this movement? I tried learning it previously but I kept hurting my back and so I’ll be trying to learn the form correctly this time around.
