This was suuuuuper helpful! The comparison with English grammar structure really made it stick for me. Thanks so much!
Best video ever 😊
Great
Hello, I really like your videos. I would love to see your sources for these pronunciations and know what time period's Greek you are trying to reconstruct. There is a lot of stuff in this video that I've never heard argued for beforehand, such as eta and omega being diphthongs (the vowels in pay and go are diphthongs the way you and I pronounce them), upsilon being /u/ and not /y/ in Biblical Greek, ει being a diphthong, and so on. I am really interested in learning more and I would appreciate knowing where you got this information from.
Helpful! Cheers!
Thankyou sir👍
So helpful. Currently taking Greek and using Bill Mounce’s intro to Greek. This is great and concise explanation.

Ne
its good practice for me to learn greek thank you
Excellent
Assuming your teaching the modern spoken greek not the ancient, Beta Is 100% pronounced using a v sound, so its more like Veta (They get their B sound from combining μ & π ) :)
Foreigners: **struggling to learn English** The Greek language: “hold my gyro”
Bronze zimma. Neptunes
I needed this lesson so badly! Thanks
Excellent teacher !

WAs interested in Greek grammar but the religious references turned me off from listening. Just wanted to learn basic Greek grammar not Biblical quotes. lol
Thank you 🙏😊
a fantastic message Murray: we miss you in indiana!
Thanks so much, Pastor Tony! We miss you too! I so appreciated your friendship and encouragement during our time in Indiana. I hope our paths cross again soon!
Historical reliability? Based on what evidence? And picking apart "life after death" as compared to "resurrection" is ridiculous word play. It's taking the focus off the fact of the matter which is this: There's only hearsay evidence for any resurrection. "OH, but 500 witnesses!" No, there was one unnamed person who REPORTED that 500 people knew about it. That would be thrown out of a court of law as a "testimony." It's amusing how this religion can show no ark, no tablets, no Aaron's rod, no cross, no evidence whatsoever (unless you count the 17 Jesus foreskins the Catholics claim to have), not even one word written down by "the Word of God" himself.
Dear Jenna, thanks for watching the video and interacting with the content! Just to be clear on your position, do you disagree with the following statement: "Very shortly after Jesus' death, the disciples had experiences that led them to believe and proclaim that Jesus had been resurrected and had appeared to them."
Dual number has left the chat
I think it would be really cool if you tried to learn the original ancient greek pronounciations instead of using a combination of the english pronounciation and the modern greek pronounciation.
These videos are just so great. Cannot thank you enough!
Question… the second example has a feminine AFS… why is the translation not “she has the life”?
@murray vasser
Watch the video again and pay attention to the table he refers to at 1:08. In addition, there is no direct article needed to be inserted from Greek to English.
❤❤
Your pronounciation is not right sorry
The words “NOT as a slave” are neither vague nor ambiguous: Paul told Philemon to free his slave! Any other interpretation of the words “NOT as a slave” reek of Pharisaical attempts to bend the literal, objective, divine text of the Bible to fit squishy, subjective, political priorities, such as justifying the white-supremacist Confederacy and its genocidal crimes against humanity. So, let the Bible speak for itself. Sola Scriptura!
Thanks Sir
Hi, does Biblical Greek similar to Attic Greek? I'm using your video to study for my Attic Greek class. btw it helps a lot!!!
There are no words. Your teaching of Greek is just amazing! Thank you sir!

Wait I didn’t understand. Isn’t the theta’s pronunciation exactly the same as the phi’s pronunciation?
The F is a labiodental fricative, you use your lower lip and your upper teeth to pronounce it. TH is a dental fricative, you put your tongue between your teeth. To a non-native speaker of a language, that distinguishes between F and TH (/f/ and /θ/ in the international phonetic alphabet), they sound very similar. If you speak English, (European) Spanish, Icelandic or Greek, you easily hear the difference. If you hear a sound that is not in your native language, your brain will kind of trick you that you already know this sound, and you will hear a similar sound, hence why so many non native speakers of English pronounce TH as F.
@@user-yh3wb very interesting… so you’re saying that phi is pronounced like F (lower lip + teeth)?
@@rafagamer4718 yes
@@user-yh3wb thanks🫠

I have a question, present active indicative means verb is in the present tense but the action is continuing right? So "exw" means "I am having" or we can simply translate it as i have? Am i wrong if i will translate it as "i am having"?
