Definitely not crazy, but will be interesting to see if it can actually materialise this year. I see Islam fighting Arman and Charles which will cover the year and then look at double champ in 2026. Whereas Shavkat beating Belal, just depends when it happens, as if it’s in the middle of the year / after IFW, we might not see a defence from him this year.

Both are definitely up there, Dricus would be my next one in with beating Izzy , but took Merab as he was more convincing in his wins, won his title at the sphere and has been consistently entertaining on social media

He’s had a decent year but compared to the others on the list it wasn’t as strong, 1 KO win against Curtis Blaydes which was impressive, but he wasn’t super active.

Granted he’s only had the one fight at the top against Sandhagen, but that performance speaks to the level that Umar clearly is at. Cory Sandhagen is one of trickier fighters as he’s well rounded but also one of the more unorthodox on the feet. Umar’s sambo based neutralised him. But even in the feet Umar handles himself well with his kickboxing tools as well, the sambo will be very effective against O’Malley as we saw what Merabs wrestling was able to do, and when it co td go Merab - I simply don’t see his crazy wrestle heavy pressure style drowning Umar for 25 minutes when he has such a good grappling base himself? And on the feet I’m taking Umar all day with how much more effective his striking is. Ultimately there isn’t a clear picture on how to beat him? My best guess is if Petr Yan comes out the way he did against Figi having his takedown defence be flawless, I could see him beating Umar with close range boxing, but that’s really it.

@@cagefrontmma I saw that Alex said he waits Jon to come down. So that's not happening. Dana White said he's not gonna do business with Francis....but we all know that money talks for Dana so it can happen in certain financial conditions....that leaves us with the Aspinall fight...which is the only one that makes sense right now. I'm an optimistic and I think they will all agree from all points of view and make that fight happen!

When it comes to Khamzat and Shavkat, I don’t see any crystal clear options in each division that could actually take their 0’s. Khamzat’s chain wrestling is ridiculously elite against a striking oriented division. For Shavkat we need to see an opponent that has elite striking to capitalise on Shavkat’s poor strike defence, who can counter strike extremely effectively and someone who has defensive grappling, which as a whole, we haven’t really got. Ilia Topuria’s only way of losing is possibly against Islam, but I don’t think the fight happens which is why I’ve put him in mission impossible. And for Umar I agree with you, unless he fights ilia, which may happen but isn’t anywhere near being in the near future.

@cagefrontmma Ok good, glad his issue isn't supposed to be a long term thing. I think he beats Shavkat pretty easily if they do end up fighting. Mma che made a good argument about Shavkat's lack of wrestling skill, whereas Belal is great everywhere. He outstruck Leon Edwards, that's crazy. With training with team khabib I think he's multiple levels above Shavkat and will make him look sloppy and unskilled. The pressure thing isn't going to work on Belal.

@@HoboGardenerBen it’ll definitely be interesting to see, definitely wouldn’t count Belal out, but I think we will get to see some really dynamic striking from Shavkat in that fight
