Young, Wild & Cheap is the ultimate travel/ food show made especially for millennials who are looking to go off the beaten path, enjoy authentic culture and awesome food in US$100 or LESS.
The concept was born out of our love and hunger to experience every nook and cranny of the world on a very, very tight budget.
For the last 5 years, we’ve been doing what we never thought was possible, which has led us to many discoveries of new worlds, lifestyles and philosophies off the beaten path we never knew existed! We’ve had to question everything we knew and believed in order to learn the benefits of considering anything.
So follow us as we, not only tell you how to travel cheap, but show you why you should do it now, when you’re young and wild.

What is SONGKRAN? From Ancient Origins to World's Biggest Waterfight!
The Thai New year, also known as Songkran, the biggest water fight in the world, is the nation's most loved and famed festival. But calling it that would be like saying Christmas is about Santa Claus. It is an ancient tradition that demonstrates the ways, values, and beliefs of the Thai people.
Though Songkran is technically on April 13th, the holiday usually extends through to the 15. This year, however, the Thai cabinet extended the Holiday nationwide to five days, from 12-16.
The word "Songkran" comes from the Sanskrit word saṃkrānti which means transformation or movement or specifically in this case, the changing of Zodiac signs. It arrived to Thailand at least 1380 years ago, along wi...

Songkran festival is a continuation of Holi festival of India. When Indians from state of Orissa first arrive at the shores of Thailand. That's the beginning of Songkran festival. Because Buddhism in India has no such tradition. Later the tradition continued, but the story associated with it changed.

The earliest new year water festival was found on the mural paintings in Ancient Pyu cities of Burma. We have been celebrating this festival for more than 2000 years. No doubt Thai, Lao and Cambodia got this festival from Myanmar.
