How to Clean and Oil Your Industrial Sewing Machine
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.Год назад
Here is a quick tutorial on how to clean an industrial sewing machine. I’m using the Juki DDL 8700. Open up your machine to replace the oil and to clean the bobbin area from dust and loose threads. I usually do this process every 6 months. Cleaning your machine regularly allows it to operate efficiently. Shop my patterns: tammysilver.com/shop/ Follow me on Instagram: tammy_silver...

How to Sew a Faux Leather Skirt | Easy DIY Tutorial
Can I ask, I'm a new sewer and I don't know how to predict how to measure how much fabric will need initially so that I have the correct length when it's all gathered. For example if I need to make a 36 inch waist - how do I know what length waist to start with 🥲🥲
Hey! If you want to gather for a skirt as an example you need at least double for a good amount of fullness. So the length of fabric to cut would be 72 inches. If you want it more full then times it by 2.5 which would be 90 inches
Thank you so much for taking the time to do your videos. I bought my Juki 2 years ago and I finally got to actually use it and start sewing with it after I watched your video! I was so excited! I even almost decided to sell the machine. So THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR VIDEO. I look forward to watching more of your videos!
What kind thread and needles you use I have a Juki DDL-8700 I bought mines from off Etsy for 873.99 mines not built like your where you get your feet from for your machine
You can use any threads really. I get my needles from eBay, standard size is 90/14: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171362777451?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=X45l1B8VRWK&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=WJq-eNmGRbO&var=470415263681&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Please read the 7th page of your juki 8700 manual so you can thread your machine in the correct way. You are teaching people the wrong way.
Hey, everyone is welcome to read their manuals to learn how to thread their machines. I’ve been using my Juki for 5 years and this is what works for me
Nice and clear, thanks
Very well explained and very nicely done video. I'm about to start a RUclips channel but in a different industry. When it comes to sewing and sewing machines, it would be like putting my cat in front of a sewing machine and telling him to start sewing lol. I know zip zero and nil but I'm trying to learn. I know it takes time to create videos but any chance you could do some videos for people like me on how to use a sewing machine from start to finish (like feeding the material through the presser foot, show reasons why the stitches are tangled up and how to troubleshoot things? Thanks again :)
Hey hey, thanks for your very kind and detailed feedback ❤ I was looking to start a new series in the new year and your comment has helped me to know where to kick it off!

Love the studio!
Thank you! ❤❤
👋🙂🇦🇺❤❤❤ Thanks ❤
I'm just bought a Kingstar Dy -370 a week ago, still struggling with few things.
You're a genius my dear, good tutor and I hope you still bringing more tutorials for us. May the good God bless you.
@@VincentPietMazibuko Amen, thank you babes
The one I got is JUKY , hope they’re the same ? 😮
I have no idea 😂 it might be another brand trying to copy JUKI. But if it’s an industrial machine it will work in a similar way
@@tammy_silver thank you ❤️
If I were younger this is the machine I would buy.
I'm trying to readjust my space
Simple explanation. Thank you
Welcome 🤗

So gorgeous ❤❤ you mostly but the sewing room too
@@SewUnique_ng lol you flatter me, thanks love! 😉 😘
Impressive! ❤️☺️
Thank you 😊
Thanks dear, it's helpful
Thank you very much!
Can you please help me out🥺I got a new sewing machine my motorbelt is not moving
Do you have an industrial machine? The belt might be broken or misaligned which is why it’s not working. In that case you’ll either need to put it back in place or replace it. But please turn off your sewing machine while you’re checking!
😇 Promo`SM
This is amazing!
Thank you!
Hi did this machina can titch zig zig I want to repair a thin dress like a flying paper 🪁
This machine can only do a straight stitch :)
Have you ever bent or broken a needle while sewing boning?
It has broken before. When sewing on top of the boning the needle wears down a lot quicker. I use a thicker needle to combat this but doesn’t mean it won’t ever break. So go slowly if you use this method :)
@@tammy_silver thank you for the advice! I have a dress I bought last year and the bodice is … slumpy, so I figured that boning might help it look better
❤❤🎉🎉so beautiful keep it up
OMG!!!!!! I was stuck all day with no remedy as to why my machine was not stitching the fabric. I watched this video after watching endless videos for 2 days straight. This is the only video that said thread the needle from left to right. I tried it, it fixed my issue! That's all it was and I am so thankful and amazed. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!
Aww really glad this helped. It’s a small detail but really makes all the difference when you know! 😆
Please show us how you drafted the pattern?
Lovely set up!
Thank you!
I would definitely love a tutorial on the pattern of this corset Beautiful 🎉🎉👏👏 So sorry about your finger, it can be so painful
Hey, good to know! Drafting can often be the hardest part so will look at doing a tutorial in the future 😊
You did a great job showing us how to use it. Thank you.
Very informative video, thank you so much!
Hi there , thanks for the video. Do you mind writing the table measurements please as i want to be sure if it's gonna fit in in my space ?
42.5 inches wide 32 inches high 22 inches deep
Thanks for replying , I do appreciate
Thank you for the info I have problem the bottom side tread not nice
Thank you your video is so helpful
lovely, thank you!
Welcome :)
Great video, I'll be receiving my Juki DDL 8700 H, in a few days from Amazon. I build custom sofa sectionals and other upholstered furniture, so I needed an industrial sewing machine for my furniture upholstery work. I've checked out plenty of videos on assembling this sewing machine, so when my sewing machine arrives, I'll know exactly how to assemble it. I'm not sure if you realize it or not, but that magnet goes into your oil pan on top of the oil drain plug. It's there to catch broken needles in the advent of a needle break, again great video and happy Juki sewing.
Thank you! I’ve never known what that magnetic was for until now 😂
Your most welcome, happy sewing.@@tammy_silver
I liked how you showed the oil bath. I think newbies will be shocked to see the oil bath on the industrials. That was great how you even showed the oil that you use. Thanks! The light colored rest for the machine when you rock it back is called a post.
A post! really good to know, thank you! 😆
I like the picture on cushion on top of the machine. Very good video.
Thank you ☺
Hi, does anyone know how to add a speed reduce onto a DL-8700 Juki? I need a manual or instructions. The digital program doesn't slow it down enough for the precision curves I need to sew.
Hi, here's the tutorial on how to reduce the speed: ruclips.net/video/69lsRXuhW_A/видео.htmlsi=CsGd2QVVD708aYNs
Thanks so much for this video.. your explanation got me to understand better.. I appreciate your video.. thank you once again.
Much appreciated, glad it helped you 🥰
Impactful, just like the first episode with K.D. well-done diva's
I’m glad you enjoyed it, hope you found it useful as well ☺️☺️
@@tammy_silver yes, very useful....I had fun watching it....and it was so lively
Thanks for having me babe. This was a vibe 🥰 Enjoyed chatting and learning from you guys 😘
If you would love to do certain tutorials but wouldn't do them because you know you wouldn't wear them. Have you considered doing miniature projects for tiny dolls just to pass the message anyway. If it catches your fancy, why not look in to that..
I have tried one project as a miniature tutorial in the past, I still got comments under that video of people requesting for the life size tutorial 🤷🏾♀️
@@KimDave wow! Interesting!
Thank you so much for having me on the very first episode of Talk with Tammy! I enjoyed it so so much ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for joining Ayo! ❤❤
Can you help me, my machine is the same as yours and I can’t reset the the stitching speed it’s saying e5 can you help me x
Am a beginner and just bought Vesta it is good and I need to learn how to use it can you help please
Precise video!❤ Thanks a lot for these info
Thank you, glad you found it useful!
Hiya great video, I’ve just got my new juki machine and I was wondering if I could ask your advice?. The back of my stitches aren’t looping properly and I’ve tried adjusting the tension, the bobbin tension, the stitch length etc. But nothings really working if you have any suggestions on what could be the problem I would be grateful 🙏
I think you're missing a step in the threading part or the the thread in the bobbin is on the wrong direction
Hi Tammy. Great vid.. Hope you make more vids showing the foot pedal work. Have a great day. 😊
Thank you!
@@tammy_silver welcome.
🙋♀️ Hi Tammy. can you please do a video on how to slow the power down? Im starting a new job soon and will be using this and im embarrassed to ask my new boss to get maintenance in and slow it down for me. The last person who was at this job 30 yrs has been using it at full speed and im just not sure if I can do the same speed comfortably😢. Is there a way to get it slowed down by my adjusting it myself 😕
Hi Rita, thanks for leaving a comment. I've just uploaded a video answering your question! So check it out and good luck at your new job!
