Hello, I'm Skeome. I'm a streamer.
Arch is Easy to Install | UNCUT | Wifi info in Description | From VM Creation to Installing yay
Note: This applies to efi machines with an ethernet connection. If you're installing on a laptop without an ethernet port, begin with the following commands before pinging a server:
iwctl
device list
station wlan0 get-networks
station wlan0 connect "network"
Then, after the reboot step, you'll have to connect to the internet using nmtui or nmcli before continuing
------------
If you're installing on a real machine, I recommend installing Hyprland as well (it "works" in a vm. You just have to do some config workarounds if not following the Hyprland guide for VMs).
To install Hyprland, just add "hyprland wofi kitty nautilus" to the line that says "sudo pacman -S plasma sddm"

@skeome pretty sure you unlisted the wrong video
@@carl.7879 I actually have to rerecord the other one. I didn't notice there were slight audio issues. I'd also like to clean it up a bit since I did have a few tongue-slips as well. Since I have to rerecord it, I just put this one in the playlist as a placeholder. It will be removed when I get to Arch in the second video of the new series
@@skeomeoh alright, just making sure 👍
thanks for the tutorial, but oddly enough my wifi didn’t work, so i’m in the living room hooked up to ethernet 😅
@carl.7879 I should have put an indicator somewhere that wifi instructions are in the description 🤦♂️ I apologize for that Edit: Updated title
@@skeome this tutorial was better than most of the others i’ve used, but i nearly messed up because in certain parts ‘mnt’ looked like ‘nnt’
@@skeomealso, GNOME let me connect to a network after i had installed it, so either way i’m fine
@carl.7879 I'm glad it worked out for you, haha. Since you use GNOME, I'd like to recommend @typecraft_dev (typecraft) and the hyprland series. I noticed he uses GNOME as well
I made a mistake when uncommenting the locale.conf file at 11:10. I only uncommented the first line for my locale You want to uncomment BOTH of the corresponding locales, not just the first one like I did. Doing what I did may lead to some applications not working or installing correctly. I apologize for that. To fix, just uncomment the next line before writing and exiting the file.

To install Hyprland, just add "hyprland wofi kitty nautilus" to the line that says "sudo pacman -S plasma sddm" Alternatively, you can download these packages at the end using "yay -S hyprland wofi kitty nautilus" Arch Wiki: wiki.archlinux.org/title/Main_page Hyprland Wiki: wiki.hyprland.org/
