You just answered a question I had when watching another person using shrink tubing. Use some sort of adhesive prior to slipping the tube over the lace (I'm assuming it will lessen the chance of the tube slipping off the lace as you pull and tug on it) Brilliant.

Thanks! None of the shoe repair shops knew how to do it. I needed 110 cm laces for my boots but standard ones available from everywhere were only 90 or 120 cm.
