I love this idea. I’ve used canva for my small business marketing so now i need to do this also so I can get more organized. To add to the holiday bucket list idea- maybe do it by holidays or the seasons. ❤

I like this idea! My life fluctuates between busy and quieter times and it’s harder to be artistic and creative in my planner when it’s busy. But I do like the idea of a ‘record’ to remember how things flowed and to be able to hold on to the every day blessings that life brings.

You did a beautiful job ❤ I like that it has all of your own thoughts and not the idea of others you have to adapt to 😊

I’ve never used Canva, but it looks like something I’d enjoy using, especially if it would allow me to design pages for my planner that HP no longer offers in the mini size…budget, wellness, faith, recipes…as well as other things they’ve never offered such as a gardening section. I’ve found an Etsy store that has created a lot of these, but not all of them. I don’t decorate pages anymore, I just want them to be functional, but designing dividers and covers would be fun. I noticed that you’ve laminated different pieces in your planner. How do you punch them for your discs afterwards?

I track my finances in my planner in much the same way that you do. One thing that I include in mine are check registry pages where I record every expense or income and bank balance. Writing this information down and having it at my fingertips without having to go online has been a game changer for me in living within my monthly plan. If you’ve never considered including this in your budget section, you might try it and see what you think. I have found it to be essential for me, and I love having a complete, written financial record for the year in one place. I just found your channel today. 😊

I love your setup. If card-stock seems to heavy, try 32 lb. paper that is what they use the most in the planner world. I have been making my own inserts.

I also make my own Inserts and use a combination of Google docs and canva. It's great and makes things super easy. I use a letter Sized tul, same size as a big happy planner.

I love this idea. I am happy planner girly and discbond girly. I love all things planners and stationary. I never thought about using canva for creating my own planner. I was using etsty for awhile, but not loving it so much. So I have a new way to create planners. Thank you for sharing.

It was something that I was planning to do because there are so many awesome planners out there that I like a little of and would love to get but do not need the whole planner. Nicely done! Love it. Planners need to be a tool, not a distraction. Once they become the thing...they often cease to effective for their purpose. The planner is not the thing, living the life is the thing. SOmetimes the planner trends confuse the two, ;) Spoken from a former planner tramp who knows all about distraction! I make my own planner also. I hate the calendar being on the divider with HP. I also like everything behind that month’s divider. I am currently hand drawing mine because I’m terrible with cutting and printing it correctly.

Love it. You can actually use a heavier printer paper instead of cardstock for your weekly pages and be cheaper. I use the heavier printer paper for making envelopes.

Great video! Looks like you actually have a very functional planner system. I have created my own for the last couple of years using rings and A5 format. I use Microsoft Publisher. I have tried Canva, but since I was quite proficient with MS publisher, I did not pursue learning Canva. This year I am trying Hobonichi Cousin. I thought it might be nice to not have to print new daily inserts each month. The daily inserts are the work horses in my planner. I adjusted the set tasks to fit the month. I might regret having to write them down each morning.

Hi, question from a newbie to making my own planner… I have a question & hoping you can help… Wondering why my pages don’t turn easily. I’m using 120gsm paper, could the thicker paper cause it? Or Could it be the width of the discbound rings? Or is this a usual thing? TIA
