It's a creepy and inhuman approach. Basically an introverted nerd's vision of hiring. Great for someone who lacks the social skills necessary for normal human interactions, or resume-mills interested in doing the least amount of work at the lowest cost to find the "best" candidates. The problem is that no quality candidate in any serious profession would take this approach seriously. It basically sends the message that the hiring company doesn't genuinely value candidates. It's only natural for one to wonder if such a company would treat employees the same. Would they be terminated by an AI avatar as well? As a former tech industry analyst, I'd have found it difficult not to make fun of the founders during their pitch.
