Golbridge that was harsh on Matic, he's just saying Scott's qualities are hard to find on the market, he never said anything about winning titles. Scott has rare qualities and Matic is right, but Goldbridge's assessment that Scott isn't what we need right now is also correct. If we had unlimited funds we would never sell Scott but we need the money to get a more defensive player to balance the midfield. The thing with Scott is he can't control the midfield, he hides from the ball, he's more of a physical presence who makes late runs into the box and can finish like a forward with head and feet. But when we play with a CAM and when our midfield struggles to control games, playing Scott will only lead to less control and more unbalanced midfield. Scott would be great in a midfield 3, proper 3 with no cam, where he has license to get forward and exploit space. He is undoubtedly an asset which is why we sold him; he could generate funds. Ultimately Mount can score goals, can play cam, and you'd hope can also play in a midfield three but we will miss Scott's physicality and availability - two things Mount doesn't compare well with Scott.
