Bolo Brought me Here Dope vid bro!!!🔥💥💥
thanks!!
I remember when I started out I had a Roland JP 8000 and I used Acid pro with a desk mic….it was late 1998 like October and the songs I made back then and would bring to work people liked them because for a home recording they were cool….today I make music that can rival what any studio can do…you need the know how still to get a master at -6 LUFS but it certainly helps to have the tools they have these days. It’s absolutely amazing when I compare the quality to 27 years ago.
100% the key that beginners need to understand is that ur track should already be groovin when its dry, then when u add ur fx its adding to the core bounce. Some of my favourite beats are very simple but the drums are swung and knocking just right.
Totally agree! It's better to master the basics and a few essential plugins first.
Bro thank you so much for this video. THIS HELPED SOOOOO MUCH!!!!+
I have used Studio One for decades, and that is true. However, I have recently learned not to buy a plugin until I am convinced it will meaningfully improve my mix.
I fell for the trap lol
me too!!😂

Thousands of people complain about how the music is very low quality. And it is low quality.
No record sales. No one is buying music they rather steal it.

Too expensive to record.
I have used cakewalk until cakewalk Sonar X3
Good video. I agree with your points.
Let’s keep it real the internet and technology today is a Blessing and a curse. Other than technology what really created this disaster was back then in the early 80’s like today we had the wrong leadership running this country I’m talking about a sad actor name Ronald Reagan who pulled Arts, Sports and Music out of Schools. Unfortunately the kids I would say who was born in the late 60’s and early 70’s were cheated out of a lot of knowledge. Because that generation of kids were denied that education of music and arts that’s how the Hip Hop, Rap Era came and the sampling became popular. I give them credit for being creative my only disapproval was the sampling of other artists music. Growing up when I was in school we had choir, bands, orchestra and music class. I run into people when I would go to visit my home town who can’t play an instrument they would tell me I remember you and your brothers having a band one played the Sax and your other brother played the drums and I see you are still playing the piano. Having this software is great if you have an understanding of how whatever instrument and sound you are using is played. When I see advertisement pertaining to chord progressions and other instruments that has everything already played frustrates me because many of those who call themselves producers can’t explain anything about the music and they do not know what they are doing. Hearing these kids say I want to make beats but they don’t know the concept of a drum set. When I ask what kind of beat do you want to play they have no idea and they cannot explain. Today unfortunately it’s about instant gratification vs really learning and practicing to play an instrument. This applies to some not all. I’m sure anyone on this post with a car would prefer a mechanic with knowledge who can explain what needed to be repaired on your car vs a backyard mechanic who doesn’t have the proper tools or knowledge to fix your car especially when you have been presented with an expensive bill. Today’s music lacks creativity, originality and substance. I can remember when the rule was you had to be original and you had to present creativity that was different from what is already being heard. Today the music is empty. I can listen and I know the difference between a real drummer vs a programmed drum machine. Lyrics in a lot of songs today written by females as well as males extremely sexual. I’m not saying bands like the Earth Wind and Fire, The Isley Bros, Ohio Players and the list goes on did not have their love songs. The difference those guys were musicians what you heard from the studio you heard live at the concert. There were no dat tapes or sequencers. Those bands rehearsed. Unfortunately budget cuts started happening. Today there are no more record companies we don’t have radio like we use to there are no more record stores. All of this is now is because of streaming. Before streaming music videos hurt the business because the focus was more about how an artist look vs how they sound. That was a huge myth and a big mistake. A woman who’s attractive and a guy who would appeal to the ladies doesn’t mean they can sing. This brother is speaking truth and facts. I personally prefer personal interaction in a studio with great creative musicians because the ideas and spontaneous is what created the music back then that inspires us today. I remember when record companies had staff writers and I remember seeing musicians reading music and studio musicians were working. A good example please look at the Luther Vandross Never Too Much Documentary. The collaboration with Nat Adderly Jr. Marcus Miller the arrangements of other artists songs and the originals had originally and creativity that is missing today. I have a great midi studio in my home I control the technology the technology does not control me. If my electricity was to quit due to a power shortage I know how to play an acoustic piano I know how to grab some manuscript paper and write my music. I understand music lessons and going to a music college is very expensive. The advantage of having the ability to zoom and maybe get together with a fellow musician who has the knowledge to teach and help you better your skills is something I suggest doing. I know people today because of these cell phones they don’t know their own number. I was blessed to go to school to study composition and arranging. I have great plug in sounds. Those who have heard my music thought I had a band but I played all of the instruments. I can play other instruments but my strongest instrument is the piano. My point is having access to all of these various sounds you have to think and play like what ever instrument you are using. Like the title of the song Ain’t Nothing Like The Real Thing. Understand I am not putting down no one’s creativity today’s music and influence the focus is on too much negativity also a lot of the music sounds the same. On social media the reels with pictures and videos of very attractive women the music in the background very degrading. I can imagine if a great artist from back in the day was trying to break into the business today he would be rejected. Substance, originality and creativity needs to come back.
PreSonus did away with the Artist version of their software. You would be upgraded to a version of Studio One Pro.
Love you, Thanks
Bolo sent me here. Sub and Like = Done
That package for $179 is mind blowing 🤯 wished that I seen that during the holidays, would had gotten that for my nephew that needed something to stream while he games.
You can make a demo from your phone.
Or you could buy a used MPC
RAP doesn't sustain a ecosystem.
Not for bands that perform live... Instruments take up space... Guess it's the type of music..
same for bands. People use modeling plugins to simulate amps and pedals. Remember Digidesign Eleven Rack? You don’t need a room. Ever heard of Polyphia? They all have their own personal studios. That’s just one example. Ever heard of Pro Tools Cloud Collaboration?
@RecordingSoftwareTutor It still comes down to playing. Trying to find vintage amps you'll spend more time than playing... A room full of producers is the same as a coven of witches. Live music forever 🤘❗
🔥
This is a solid recommendation. I appreciate your videos brotha.
preciate you watching!
I think the evolution of music has something to do with it. With all due respect, recording rap, trap beats, that sort of stuff doesn't need anything more than the home gear you're describing. For stuff like rock to sound correct you still need an actual studio; but nobody's really recording that stuff that much any more. Another thing to keep in mind is a lot of lower/mid level studios used to do a lot of Pro Demos (compared to the tascam portastudio demos which i made countless ones in the old days). Nowadays a rock band can do a pretty good Demo using the DIY tools that can be then shown to a real label where a Studio Work is then created. But my interactions with real studios used to be entirely Demo driven out of necessity. You can pitch all but the most elaborate stuff to a label with a decent DIY Demo with the tech available now. I use protools and a tascam dac.
You are absolutely right about everything you said on here and I’ll just add that the other reason is that Music has completely be devalued over the past few decades. Nobody cares about quality nobody really even cares about the music. Songs come and go without any real lasting impact. Back in the day when I was younger growing up in the 70s 80s we were defined by songs. I don’t see that anymore. I just hear a lot of thumping coming out of cars I just don’t think people really give a shit ultimately about anything anymore. Attention spans are pretty much zero. It’s the TikTok generation. How can anything seriously good come out of that?
@@AllenLind Some of the lyrics sounds like a 6 year made them and a heavy Bass line no thing called a Melody
Yep! AI is about to laep the whole of the recording process into uncharted waters!
Tascam 4-track Portastudio...anyone? That was my and many of my buddies save back in the day. It was tape...sounded better than early digital stuff too.
had one in college. It was an art to bouncing tracks in the right order. 😆
@@RobertFairweatherLuvMachine and Top ten hit were produced Its the story told by the song . Look at artists like Carol King.98% of the Masters of the blues and Country had a story to paint with notes and melody.

If You understand Music 🎼 Theory, And Can Make Beats without Samples, Stay Original, Just a lot more People making Beats now? Doest mean their Great Producers? The Beat is like a Picking a Woman! Same Concept. You can have a Dope Beat, But if The MC isn’t Spitting Original BoomBap, HipHop, HorrorCore Rap, Even Trap Rap, The Bars Might not have to be 16 and a Hook\Chorus No more? But all Music 🎼 Heads from the Golden Era And Prior understand this! To make a L.P. That people are going to talk about 50 years from Now, Stands the Test of Time. Thank you.
If you want a real track go to a studio.. I worked as an assistant engineer, and had my own professional home studio.. big difference in the equipment and quality. There’s a big difference between making beats and making music.
Cubase 13, and I can't seem to get my to play in stereo. Only the left side, no matter what I do. Even if I pan to the right...nothing? If centered only left side. I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. downloaded the driver. any suggestions I could try?
I would imagine recording studios are closing because of the amount of people who now have the ability to record at home.
The whole biz is changing.
The main reason is Producers and engineers reveal too much of their skills and dats like giving out all ur secrets
There's an explosion of good information available on RUclips, and there are great paid info sites, like Groove3. No way to put that genie back in the bottle. ;)
Man I recorded my entire last album at home free of cost …i have seen first hand in some cases artist I know go to a major studio and their sound is not up to par ….sometimes less is more if you know what you doing
Good video. I don´t think all musicians and studios are going to get out of business since there are allways someone who want´s to hear a live instruments performed on stage. It is hard to record live drums at home right? Alot of rock bands actually makes drum replacements in the studio with VST:s and snap the beats exactly to the grid which to me actually makes it unecessary to have a live drummer in the first place, but the feeling of something not being exactly synced and the playing characteristics of a real drummer is pretty much gone that way. Minor flaws often make better grooves. Many artists own everything they do themselves and has to do everything from recording to promotion for themselves now which has it´s advantages and its flaws. No one helps you out but you and your friends pretty much since everyone can market themselves for free. Some electronic music will allways work great to compose and produce at home but for the ones needing a real drummer, a real brass section or a recording with a particular Steinway grand piano there is still alot of reasons to pay a professional studio to help you out (My digital Casio Celviano AP-470 is great for home studio use, but to get the resonance from the wood of the piano I would still mic it up with several microphones which is hard in a living room).
First time I went in a recording studio was in 1986. Price was 25 dollars an hour. Project sounded good on their system but wack on my boombox or car stereo. So I built my own home studio to find my own sound. But nowadays ain't no way I'd mess with a commercial studio when I have Tascam, FL and Akai Professional. By investing in myself I save myself thousands in recording cost over the long term which helps me sidestep those against your Royalty charges labels love to impose.
You saved my life ❤
Very good topic! We are singer/songwriter with around 100 songs already written for our band.11 years ago we recorded our first song in a popular professional recording studio in Manhattan (NYC) and it cost us $700. Imagine us recording all of our songs, it would "break the bank." Anyway, after recording 6 or 7 songs with this particular recording studio we decided to find an alternative and that was exactly what we did. The alternative of course is our home studio. Building the home studio does not come cheap especially since we used both digital software and analog gear to create our own unique sound. There is no doubt a traditional recording studio is better equipped than a home studio for a more professional sound. However, with advanced technology nowadays, only an audio engineer can notice the difference between a home studio recording and a professional/traditional recording studio recording. One!
Actually, with the plug-ins available today, engineers can't tell. There are many plug-ins these days that can do things expensive outboard studio rack gear can't even dream of doing.
Keep this in mind. The more AI music increases, the greater the demand for organics will rise. At the end of the day, humans are still designed to fellowship. This is why people love to hear hit songs, but go absolutely nuts at a LIVE concert. I'm not knocking AI or technology in general; I just released a music video that would have cost over one million dollars just 10 years ago. So, learn to sing and play an instrument, because your services will soon once again be needed 💯
An agenda the "elites" are pushing heavy and will continue, is killing physical media and independent.. It's all leading to the mark of the beast. They will own everything. I know it seems Far-fetched.. But wait and see..
Cakewalk home studio did it.
I still have keyboards I still have my studio. I come from adat and dat tapes.
Wow, you are such a cool, helpful, nice and REAL person! Wish you were my neighbor! Thanks, bro!
