It's cool to see Catch wrestling making its way back to general conscious. Thanks to MMA, submission artist are also learning the value of top control and leg locks treats to wrestle ups. These set-ups have that fragrance of ol' school wrestling. 🤼✨
Nice video! This is one of my bread and butter moves but I rarely do that leg hook. I’ll have to play around with that. One thing I like to do to lock someone in who won’t reach their arm in that deep is to do a quick sit out and then return back to turtle. Almost like a quick bounce on the mat with your hip. That puts their elbow right where it needs to be and then roll them.
🔥🔥🔥
Can you do a video of standing rear naked choke
Awesome video 🔥🔥🔥
Great video👍
Thank you!
these are really good videos man
Glad you’re enjoying them! Thank you for the kind words
@@coreymcwilliams1243 I got straight ankle locked by this guy in training, went home and watched part 1 then yesterday escaped it from the same guy so I bet this stuff is gold too
@@jd-3d179 congrats on the escape! Super happy to hear it helped! I highly recommend to get John Danaher’s Leg Lock counters. That’s where I learned these moves.
@@coreymcwilliams1243 I have that course but only skimmed through it so I recognized some of your moves haha your courses are more approachable than John's
@@jd-3d179 I mostly post these for my students and it makes me happy to help others as well. We’ll be posting them every 1-2 weeks!
Why no crossface? Also flopping on your back like that even with arm control would give your opponent the opportunity to roll over and pin you down.
If they try to come on top when you have the kimura grip, it gives you an easy back take. Not a good option on their part, but beginners still make this mistake. We’ll cover this in a video someday in the future. I’m sure there are tons of videos on RUclips covering it. Just search for: kimura trap back take. Using the kimura to take the back is a better option than using a cross face, in my opinion at least. I have another video giving explanations to the techniques. This is just a short video for my students to watch. Thank you for your question!
Really cool counter
Nice!! Can’t wait to see the next! ;)
We’re covering ankle lock offense this week! I’ll post a video tomorrow
Beautiful. Looking forward to see that guillotine defense wherever somewhere down to the line too 👍😉
Hey coach! Any chance of a mount guillotine defense video next ?
I’ll get it done within the next couple weeks! If you watch the bottom Guillotine defense video, where you bridge and force their roll to inverted north south, this is essentially what you want to do! Do it before they grapevine their legs and sprawl out into a good mount, after that it’s very difficult to escape.
Nice can’t wait to see!
Bro thankyou I couldn't believe this worked for me. I finally have a guillotine choke that works for me. Do you think you can set up this choke from the anaconda position with both players on there back?
Yay! Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know that. Hope it continues to work for you! I have been having more success lately by trying to wrap closed guard with the high wrist. My students became wise and made it difficult to finish, even with the full high wrist position in, but closed guard seems to be guaranteed taps. Enjoy the guillotine love, it’s addicting! For the anaconda: absolutely! It can be tricky though. When you try to pummel from the armpit(anaconda positioning) to the neck, you most likely will only get wrist deep. This is when I do a technique called the gator roll. (It’s hard to explain but I will try my best.) straighten your body so that you are in an inverted north south position. If your right arm is choking, roll like a gator to the left. This will get you both facing down towards the mat in a sprawled front head position. From here you can come up to front head and place the wrist in deeper for the high wrist finish. Hope this helps! Happy choking!
Awesome! Never cease to deliver
Thank you kind sir! I need to do a collab with that one killer blue belt, some John guy. He’ll get my views up :) let me know if something is giving you trouble. I’m Going to post a butterfly half strategy video soon.
Great content as always! Do you have any plans to cover what to do if your opponent starts to stand up?
Thank you for the kind words, it really means a lot! There is a prior video of what to do if they stand in your open butterfly guard. Covering soon what to do if they stand in your butterfly half (it’s basically the same as if they stand in your butterfly). After that we’ll be going over Reverse De la riva and de la riva!

Thanks coach!
Glad to help! Please let me know if you have any issues!
You’re posturing up into them the entire time correct?
@@cameronafrasiabi4166 not initially for the half guard variation. You want curl in to hug the hips and glue your head into the far side hip pocket initially until you are able to get their leg (that is in half guard)straight and obtain the knee torque. After this, you hip into the side of their knee, then you straighten your spine and posture up. That’s when you remain postured up until you are able to get the sweep and free your neck. Does this make sense?
Any news on that video ?
Sorry for the delay Cameron! I will get it to you soon. We are a 6 am class, and sometimes students can’t stay after class for me to film anything.
No worries sounds good
Got that video up now! Hope it helps!
Nice!!
Thank you! Give it a try and let me know if you run into any issues.
How about if he’s on top half guard guillotine or even from your butterfly. Anyway you could elaborate and show that in another video perhaps?
@@cameronafrasiabi4166 absolutely! I’ll get a video for you next Tuesday or Thursday.
@@cameronafrasiabi4166 in the mean time, watch this: ruclips.net/video/x4MkrJxYrp0/видео.html the knee torque is the counter to the Guillotine from half guard. If they don’t let go of the head to post on the mat, they will get swept and you land in the top knee torque position(the same position we got to in this Guillotine defense to break the grip) I’ll still shoot how to do it from half guard but also how to do it from butterfly as well.
The pop at 3m 8 sec on the inside Heel Hook. Couldn't believe that didn't finish the match. Then the outside heel hook on same leg at 5m 17 sec felt strong too.
