Thanks!! It was... honestly I don't even know fully yet haha I feel like I've barely had time to process. On the one hand it was great, on the other hand I missed being with my partner a lot. So much of Disney is like the "shared experience" aspect to me, and it's not quite the same if I have to share my joy only with strangers hahah But I did really like being able to do what I wanted at any given point without uh getting input from others lololol

It was closed for a bit post-COVID reopening time while they reworked it, but it's been open for a while now! It's pretty cute. It's not a must see, but I was impressed by the puppet quality a lot to be honest. If you want a break from the heat or just somewhere to sit for a while, I definitely recommend it. It's in the theater back kind of behind the DinoLand area!

My first contract I bought with the notion of banking/borrowing for every 2 year trips, so it's smaller on purpose (which also means smaller dues). But because of that, I mean, I just always use all of my points hahah

I totally get it. It’s hard to think about renting points when I always seem to find a way to use them all! Thanks to your detailed resale videos, it helped me when I was going through the process of buying my first DVC contract back in 2022. If you ever make a video on renting points, I look forward to learning more about the process :)

Ooohh yeah if you want two 2 bedrooms definitely best to just snatch it up as soon as you can! Very smart. That sounds so fun - and youre so nice for hosting your family like this (seemingly frequently!). $21 a point at 7 months isn't bad at all!

Omg yeah the 25% discounted cash prices for DVC members (or I think occasionally they've done promos for as much as 40%?) are absolutely off the rack rate so a total riot (in the bad way). I assume this is just for people to bring along their (rich?) families... cause like who is paying those prices if they have points. Ridicccuullouuusss. They make the discounted cash rates sound like such a perk but uh, I disagree haha. Yeah a little contract is so tempting but I'm with ya, probably wont. I don't need it, I don't need it, haha

@@PixieDustPhD Totally agree about those DVC cash rates! The AP and Florida resident rates are usually much lower - like $100+ less when I recently checked for a room for next week. That said, the DVC cash rate ended up being the cheapest for our January stay at the Poly Tower (by like $20). That was a first out of checking all 3 rate discounts on multiple occasions for different trips. We don't have enough points 😁 but I kinda don't want to give up my few cash nights per year because you can get good deals via the AP and FL resident discounts.

Oh hmmm I found the puttanesca to be way more like tomato and caper forward than anything else. Bu I also really enjoy black pepper so I'm probably not the best person to ask. But it at least was not like a pronounced black pepper taste! The stew the stew omg clearly I needed to do more homework to anticipate how bad it was going to be. Soul crushing, really.

The wine was truly shocking, that's such a good way to put it. I honestly wondered if they put like an ice cube or two in it to chill it, but I hung out by the booth for a hot minute and it didnt seem that way. Sooooo what's going on LOL. is water pinot noir in fashion?!

Yeah I personally haven't had issues with Poly in the past, but like you I don't travel at peak times and can be flexible with my dates if I'm planning far enough in advance. Plus I'm never trying to snag super hard to get rooms. Then again, I'm sure it will only take one time being burned on the waitlist to make me sour hahaha. It would be a lie to say I haven't though of a small add-on here, but I'm holding strong! And thanks! It's pretty close to my natural color. The lighter colors are fun but its bleach + tone + color and I am just feeling in lazy hair mode for a while haha

I don't actually have any sort of comprehensive charts to share lol. With so many variables (resort, room size, view category, time of year, week night versus weekend night) I haven't figured out a way to make a sortable / filterable spreadsheet that functions how I'd want it. So for each video I literally just make the tables you see, haha. Oh wow yeah if you already have 250 points and the Tower isn't adding grand villas seems like it might not best worth it to buy more for you? TBD about square footage but I'm sure the penthouses will be large. But regardless how large, still only sleeps up to 8! And huh ya know I've never thought about room service before (because I'm too cheap to ever do it lol), but you make a good point. I'm clearly biased about BLT, but with the lower dues and for the monorail loop I'd say decent points cost it's a no brainer for me. And I just very very much value being able to walk in to / out of MK with ease; I cannot overstate how much that walk between MK and BLT changes my mood about going to MK (yes, even compared to the monorail). I mean if you come across a good resale contract, might be worth it!

Oooh you are WINNING big time haha For the Tower points charts to not be inflated compared to the existing studios... honestly I am surprised. Very happy for everyone though (I suppose, everyone except those who were hoping the bungalows price would come down). Yeah two bedrooms are so expensive. I've started looking at those more to host my family and EEP. I generally feel like I have plenty of points, but like you said once you book 4 nights in a 2 bed you dont have much left over for just you!

I don't anticipate I'd be able to see Island Tower rooms until all DVC members can book, which by then I would surely imagine you have access to your login!! Is there something in the meantime specifically you want to know about? Even if I can't make a video, I can always just check and respond to you directly :)

@@PixieDustPhD Thank you so much for the response!!!! oh, yes I know the towers won’t be available. We are thinking we might have to stay at SS or OKW. We bought beach club so we know they won’t have anything available. We need a 2 bedroom so we are afraid nothing anywhere will be available. The contract we bought has banked points from 23 so we hope to use in 24 and our use year is Sept.

Yeah Poly resale has been really inflated recently, which totally to your point kind of ironically drives more people to just pay the difference and buy direct. Keep me posted on how it all goes!! Very exciting times :)

Hmm at 50-75 points you'd be unlikely (in my opinion) to get any incentives on a direct Poly purchase, so you're probably looking at the $225 a point price. For smaller Poly resale contracts, I haven't seen the price below about $170 in a while (that's anecdotal of course). So is that difference worth it to buy direct? Would that put you over the threshold for being a "full" member and does that matter to you (though, sounds like you might already be a blue card member)? Yeah for me I mean, obviously I already own at BLT so that 10 minute walk to MK is unbeatable. And like you said getting to the Poly to soak in the vibes isn't bad from BLT at all. But yes, tons to weigh! I personally would probably lean resale Poly in general, but to your point a small BLT contract would go further... Keep me posted on what you decide! This is always such a fun time :)

When you have Riviera in the mix i think it changes things. if you want to ever use those extra points at Riviera, then they have to be direct points from Disney (or resale Riviera points that can only be used at Riviera). Also if you want to get bigger rooms cloer to the 11 month mark, then you need to have all the necessary points in that resort you want to reserve. spreading points too thinly across multiple home resorts leaves you able to get studios in advance or short stays. Which is a good thing if that is what you want to do.

Hiya!! I did end up going to Topolino's, but I just sat at the bar for an app, a drink, and an "enhancement" or brussels. I enjoyed it! Okay so literally the entire group I met up with had no idea about single rider. I texted a friend who used to be a Cast Member about this cause Im like "did I make this up somehow?!" and they confirmed yes there is single rider, but no it's not always open. So I guess I've just always been lucky with it being open. Since the ride cars are two rows of 3 the single rider is incredibly efficient, I love it. I think I am losing some of my energy for split stays for sure haha. My friends flight on arrival night got delayed, and we were already getting in a bit late, so we spent such little time at that first hotel then just woke up and on to the next. It's really a balance of cost vs effort for me, and definitely this time we wanted to keep cost down. Like if I'm landing at 10 pm, sorry no I don't want to stay on property and pay those prices. Maybe if we were doing 2 nights we could justify it for Pop Century or something, but then with the BLT confirmed reservation coming up and it being a HEA night and only $325 (so not that much more than Pop Century!), too hard to resist. And once we locked in that single BLT night, it was obvious the night before would be separate too. But yeah I'm sketching out some future trips and I don't think any will be this intense on the splits. Ooh I've never been to BRV either! I look forward to your thoughts. Hopefully it's a relaxing and peaceful one night. Oh sorry - yes I will scroll back through! I don't know what setting got toggled and how to untoggle it, but I'm no longer getting emails when people reply to my replies to them. Ha yes surely I was eating my way around F&W! I probably overate, but ya know I had a lot of good items on my list lol. I have not been in August. I've been to Florida in July (not Disney) and it was extremely unpleasant. I find September to pretty much be my breaking point. Like even that's a lot for me personally. Though, probably tmi fun fact, whatever aging process is going on in my body as of this year my skin is now pretty prone to heat rash so that's also changing the way I'm thinking about it. Last October was pleasant imo. Still warm and muggy but not nearly as bad as September (or that one time I went in July). I do think that's a bit of a luck situation though -- October can probably rival September's brutalness. I personally would say if you're planning for August you almost surely need to plan for mid-day break. I really cannot in good faith recommend a full parks day in August, unless the weather is unseasonably cool with good cloud cover.

@@PixieDustPhD oh no! We wouldn’t do full park days anyway! 😅😅😅. We tend to either go morning or evening and then something else or hotel the other half of the day. I’m totally stuck with August due to kids starting courses in September and not wanting to take any time out. They only have a week break in October - I was going to take them out one week but one doesn’t want to in case they miss something, which I understand! Also, seems people are saying August crowds are comparatively low and that October crowds are really high now? Or is that nonsense? I feel really stuck deciding now tbh about when we could possibly go….that isnt too hot nor crazy crowded! :/ Any advice welcome lol

@@KittyMeowWow Yeah I've had several friends go in August and say the crowds were low / manageable. If I were you, I probably would do August just for the school logistics reasons youve mentioned. And ya know just absolutely plan on midday breaks and keep expectations in check - overheating is not worth getting on one more ride! (But obviously I am not you so ya know you're gonna have to do what you think is best despite advice from folks on the internet! haha)

Seriously!! I hate how the hotels are totally separate from their ticketing/app system over there. Though on the flip side, it does give me great amusement when I see loads of complaints about WDW tech and in my head I'm like "at least it's not Disneyland..." hahaha

Ah, sorry don't know how this slipped through (other than the aforementioned youtube is no longer emailing me when there are comments on my channel, so now i have to proactively check all the time). Oh yeah my family isn't great about this kind of stuff either but, uh, it just IS a part of me. Probably genetically. I can't remember a time where I probably wasn't clinically depressed. So I don't know, I just need to be able to be who I am. And sometimes who I am isn't very fun, but that's life! I have heard August is maybe now the sweet time to go for smaller crowd sizes, but I just don't know if I can manage the heat lol. I know that's not an issue for you though, so I'm very happy for your success! Wow yeah Peter Pan and Jungle Cruise, that's a massive success these days! Yeah EPCOT rides can definitely feel overly crowded, I think because like you said lack of crowd eater attractions spread out across the park. Especially with Test Track down right now, which often has a 60+ minute wait. Oohh new Country Bears! I've generally heard pretty good reviews and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it too! I have quite a long while until I'll be back in MK to experience it myself, same with Tiana's, but ah it fills me with such joy to hear other people loving their experiences. Yessss! Nothing that I saw! Not from D23 at least. I know the company was hiring for Encanto roles and so everyone is kind of under the assumption that an Encanto show is coming. I don't think anything has been officially announced though (apologies if I'm wrong here, I'm not much of a Disneyland person lol)

I have no authority on the topic whatsoever but the Muppets area just looks a tad small to me? To build out an entire door coaster? Again, what do I know, and maybe wishful thinking... plus my biased opinion is very much Launch Bay is kind of just sitting there doing almost nothing sooooo The Villains thing is wild lol I feel like, similar to the Door Coaster actually, people have been asking for it for idk 20+ years and rumors have been going on for at least 7-11 years. Its finally happening! ahhh!!!

Yeah lol that Frontierland news doesn't seem to be going over too well. I really enjoy the Rivers of America, but I get it. I hope the Cars area has some water features to keep the vibes at least. And for sure, anything they do will get an inordinate amount of backlash and support seemingly no matter what these days!
