new toys, new tools and my awesome new workshop!
There's got to be some dust shroud that is compatible with other brands of grinders.
Absolutely there is exactly that. A Universal dust shroud however it isn’t for freehand carving and is utilised on the height adjustable base which is a very clever design. Check out their website and see some of the other videos. The chip tube helps alot but that TurboPlane blade is an absolute animal so it naturally will be fairly messy as with all wood carving. Hope this helps
Why would you need two horizontal lines?
I thought that initially however it’s brilliant for setting out tiling for example and low level work down near the floor where you cant usually get a laser down that low 💚👌 Hopefully this helps
Beautiful space and equipment, but wholey crap!! Looks like you bought the whole shop in one go!
Thank you, very much appreciated. Yep, exactly what i did. Sold all my older gear and upgraded the lot in one go! 😬🤦♂️
Beats my Dewalt DCEO811 hands down that, nice one.
I’ve done dewalt, Stabila, Bosch professional, imex and it’s the best ive had by far!! Great bit of kit and sensible price considering the features it has 👌. Thanks mate
If this is a "small workshop" mine is a postage stamp 😅 Hope you have some serious security on that place mate!
For a professional workshop it is very small but super local and ideal for me right now! Dogs, alarms, cameras and heavy duty security doors but unfortunately you can only do so much mate! Have a great weekend 👊
Check out my hammer. I want to call it woodpecker
Yeah keep using it on yourself Lady B@y 😂😂
Excellent shop tour, I can’t believe how organised you are. Thanks very much.
Thanks Andy very much appreciated. You have to be organised in a small shop or it would be absolute chaos lol. I certainly try my best mate 👊
What length is the handle? 16 or 14.5?
Hi there Its a 16 on the 16oz 👌 They recommend and 14.5 on the 12oz although all compatible together so you can choose!
How does it compare to martinez
Not had a go on the martinez but this thing is weighted and balanced to perfection and I absolutely love this hammer now! Definitely worth ago 🔥👊
Didn’t understand a word. Kidding of course - thanks for the info maaate.
Hi there, while using the router 2200, can u see electric sparks inside through the top striped openings please ?
Yes you can its perfectly normal 💚👌
I’m a framer from the USA and I use a Estwing Al pro hammer and love it. But I. Going to check these guys out
They are top notch! As good as it gets
Big shout out to our main sponsor Beer Moretti, they don't know it yet ! .... 🤣🤣🤣
Now thats the sponsor im waiting for mate! Lol 😜😂😂
I just got turned on to your videos today. You have maximized your space to fit so many tools in your garage. I have the Harvey G700 I like it, you were spot on with the gigantic Y connector it comes with is so darn big...I also have the Bow weatherboards I like them a lot and I also use the Jessem Stock guides on both my router table and my table saw. Oh speaking of which I understand Saw Stop or the hot dog saw will be available over seas soon. You mentioned the Hooked on wood gentleman in your shop tour his shop is on an engineer grad level. You mentioned his table moves up and down. I looked at the table lift he uses , Whew in America those are not cheap but really cool.. I am looking forward to watching your channel grow . I am also very interested in the types of projects you might build if your channel goes into the build type of content. Well Thanks for the content have a great day..
Thanks for the message Robert and the support. Absolutely you have to in a small shop and you also have to super organised or it would turn into complete chaos in seconds!! Im thinking of changing the GYRO that extraction port drives me nuts even after adapting it and he capacity isn’t the best especially for thicknessing but my biggest issue is that in the UK you cant get a remote comtrol and the Harvey one wont fit…… i shipped one over and tried!!! Bet you do on the Harvey yes? Bow products are amazing and i use them regularly in my shop. Just give me that extra peace of mind when alone and handling larger stock. Superb accessories I haven’t tried any Jessem products yet as they arent quite as big over here but still See the odd few bits here and there. Dennis from Hooked on Wood is amazing and some of the inspiration behind my workshop ideas ……. as you can see. Them Felder hydraulic lifts are fortunes! They arent cheap over here either thats for damn sure and well over £2000. Amazing bit of kit and something I’ll definitely be upgrading to in the future! Don’t worry its coming haha. Ive been transitioning (have to be careful these days saying that lol) from building site work and full refurbishments and big teams of guys to the smaller more manageable projects therefore gradually getting more and more time in the workshop which is what i love and where i want to be. Watch this space Funny you mention SawStop. I messaged them yesterday! Would absolutely love one. That safety mechanism is a game changer Thanks for the support it’s very much appreciated Have a great All the best Richard
Looks like this will be interesting to follow, but PLEASE TURN DOWN THE BACKGROUND MUSIC. Yeh, it’s loud compared to your vocal, and it gets very tiresome turning it up and down all the time. Good luck with the build. 😀
Rich, really interesting video. I'm surprised you're not using hearing protection (or it wasn't obvious) when cutting out the windows. I can heartily recommend the Festool GHS 25 I system. Much better than traditional ear defenders.
I had ear plugs in for the grinding but the Makita rubber grommets so you can’t see them mate. Sod doing that without any!! 😬 I’m waiting for a set of Isotunes to arrive. Think Festool have had enough of my money lol 😜 Thanks for the concern and the recommendation. Very much appreciated 👊
What windows did you install? :)
Camper Glass windows mate. 3 sliders and 2 fixed 👍
I am jealous, i so want to do this but i have one big stumbling block, no money lol. I am in Essex as well :)
Haha. Yeah money certainly helps mate but have been saving for a long time and fortunately have some awesome companies supporting the build which makes it alot easier. Thanks for the message 👊
마르테니즈망치보다 한단계아래입니다
Probably above the Martínez, I’ve handled both and I love my Kinetic more
I didn't get the name of that mini air gun ... could do with that tbh.
Hey Troy It’s an awesome little tool and so handy. It’s made by Hydrayne and it’s the mini air blaster 2.0 🔥👊
@@woodpeckersworkshop thnx for the reply matey, speak again soon.
Please mate anytime! Highly recommend this Hydrayne! 👌 Check out my instagram woodpeckersworkshop24 if you haven’t already followed us and there’s a proper video on the air blaster and a little demo 👍 Cheers
Impressive shop - I can tell you watch Dennis from Hooked on Wood with that behemoth Valchromat workbench 🤣. I just recently completed my own version and hard the hardest time getting Valchromat where I am in the US.
Thank you, very much appreciated. Yes absolutely Dennis has a very impressive shop indeed and gave the inspiration for the black Valchromat MFT. Awesome, yeah I’ve heard it’s not overly common in the states! I’ll be honest I’d not really heard of it too much in the UK before I built mine! 😬 Enjoy your new bench my friend and thanks for the message 👍
Thanks Gary for the sarcasm, I think L class is okay for carpentry, the guy in this video agrees with me unless your using cement based materials you don’t really need M class, in fact the the only difference between the Festool L Class and M is the M class has a beeper when it’s full, and I think there should be a page in the health and safety book just for sarcasm, obviously only in England.
Oh ffs ... Just when i thought i need to calm down and stop buying tools ... 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣 sorry mate! Definitely don’t watch my channel if you need to stop buying tools…… I’m a bloody nightmare 😜🤦♂️ It’s AMAZING……. Like seriously incredible!! 😍The weight, the feel, the build quality and then the colours and overall looks are insane! Get involved lol 👊🔥
@@woodpeckersworkshop Must admit pal ... i am looking at one .... tasty stuff !
Do it!! 😜👊 You will absolutely LOVE IT mate 🙌
Got more money in tools then the building lol ..if you can spend like that, build a proper building an get out of the shed .it seems alot of folks are proud to be in a shed, me the first thing i did was not be in a shed lol...
Depends what you call a shed! It has an office next door and a Home gym and it’s in by back garden so why the hell would I want to move To a building with overheads when I have this for free. It’s heated has AC and WiFi so I’m quite happy with my SHED thanks! Being 16 metres long its a bloody big shed and has aluminium bifolds and a fibreglass roof…… your meaning of shed is clearly different to mine!! 😬
lol. I know what you mean but it’s a bloody big shed and convenient as hell so until I get some land and build my forever home with a commercial sized unit the SHED is staying 😜 Trust me when I build my proper workshop in a few years that will be some RUclips content to behold 🔥👊
Brilliant workshop! I’m currently on with making my garage into a workshop and that is a similar size. I’ve gone for very similar tools (mainly axminster machinery) and they are awesome. Very happy with all what I have so far and may have to get one of them air filters ordered👍🏼 The festool collection is also very impressive! Keep up the good vids! You have a new sub😁
Thanks for the kind words and for the message, very much appreciated. I’m now partnered up with Axminster tools and will have an affiliate link sent up soon. If there’s any products you need advice on or if it’s an item I have that you’d like to see in more detail please just say and I’ll do a video showcasing that item! 👊 They are a super company and I’m very pleased with all my machines and accessories from them! 🔥 If you mean the air filter on the ceiling do yourself a favour and put a socket either very far up the wall or ideally on the ceiling so it’s ready to go 👌 Thanks for the sub and best of luck with the new workshop
Nice one, Thank you👍🏼 They really are! I can’t recommend them enough! Yeah that is a good idea. Will definitely have a look into getting one. No problem, thank you👍🏼
Thanks again, I’ve got an older fein L class dust extractor, and it does the job I’m not spending £600 on a Festool M class I think the regulations are a money making scam for health and safety, thanks Adam 👍🥃
My rail saw has a green lead
Ah cool. Good to know 👍. Thanks for the heads up
It's great to show folks what tools have or can do, but you need to get a MUCH closer camera angle. Not as helpful if you are so far away from the camera and folks can't see anything. :)
Appreciate the feedback, that’s useful to know. Due to it being such a comprehensive tour and being so long it’s hard to focus closer on individual items. Due to the interest on the video I’ll be doing several shorter videos focusing in a lot more detail and running through machines and spec up close! Thanks 🙏
Thanks again, so basically when they say you have to have an M class dust extractor for carpentry, it’s ball shit an L class is good enough, I don’t like those health and safety people anyway.
Pretty much Adam, that’s what I was advised! It’s subject to the site but also the M class has a blockage and fill sensor so if there’s an obstruction in the hose and it stopped sucking an alarm will sound advising you of the case! Some sites understandably would get very funny if your extractor went down and you were carrying on cutting and making dust in the air unaware! If I worked on site for the sake of £100 extra approximately I would have gone M to cover myself but just me on site or in the shop +1 at times so no need! If in doubt ring Festool for peace of mind 👊
Happy lung cancer if you regularly cut ply, MDF etc. A more sane and sensible argument would be to settle with an 'L' class extractor as a hobbyist/DIY'er, with limited exposure time compared to a professional or employee, and ensure it's regularly cleaned through, with regular bag and filter changes. 'L', 'M' and 'H' classifications exist for a reason - primarily to prevent unnecessary deaths to employees either directly, as users, or indirectly because you're breathing in someone else's dust in a workplace.
Great use of the space , I had to work in a small space like that when I was in the Navy and use it for metal and welding work also. Thanks for the video.👍🏝️🇨🇦
Thanks, and yes the mafell is very good 👍
Hi I like watching your videos, I’m a carpenter do you really need an M class dust extractor for carpentry , I have a L class and I think it’s fine for carpentry.
Hi there and thanks for the message and the support. It isn’t a yes or no answer. If you work on public/ commercial building sites then yes you must have an M class and extractor but his subject again to what materials you are cutting. Most woods are fine but things like cement board, things containing silica dust, certain MDF boards I believe…. so please check before purchasing to ensure it’s suitable for your requirements. My work is all domestic and private and I don’t use it for anything other than saw dust so for me it’s great 👍 Hope this helps my friend Thanks Rich
@@woodpeckersworkshopthanks for your reply, I wasn’t actually talking about the regulations for M class, I was talking about common sense, I have a Mafell mt55 track saw, and a fein L class dust extractor, and I can’t see any dust, same thing with my festool sander, can’t see any dust, personally I think M class is over regulation for carpentry.
Your sweet then mate as it’s more designed with the M class for finer cement based particles and silica products! As a carpenter just cutting wood you’re absolutely fine and exactly the same set up as I have regarding extraction 👍 Oh Mafell …… very nice 👌
Nice shop! I like the flow through it, and that you can easily see your tools and such. Cheers!
Thanks John very much appreciated. It took quite a bit of playing around and some working out but I’m super happy with the result now! Thanks for the message and support 👊
I had one of those green leads on a Rotex 90, hated it got rid of it as it was not flexible enough like other leads.
Yeah fair comment. They look cool but definitely not as practical 😬
Meu pai era carpinteiro naval aqui no Brasil, sou mecânico aeronáutico e amo carpintaria.
Perfeito seu espaço, ferramentas de níveis hard e muito lindas, amo os clamps bessey!
Great shop tour! Love the layout and choice of tools.
Glad you enjoyed it- thank you 🤩 👊
The echo is phenomenal m8!
The guy I work for, he has the Festool TS60 track saw 110 volt , which has a green lead it’s hard wired not a plug it.
Ah awesome that’s good to know. My ts75 track saw has a green lead but not hardwired! 🤷♂️ Thanks for the info 👊
Somebody mortgaged the farm
Haha. Na don’t have a farm but sold a kidney 😜🤣
@@woodpeckersworkshop hey, I have a kidney. Hmmmm
I just found this channel this morning, being retired now and wanting to enjoy myself, i have been spending some cash on Festool and others, to restart my love of woodworking from 40 plus years ago, nearly built my workshop now and I will be watching closely all your videos matey, thank you in advance ! (PS nice MFT btw)
Ah awesome. It’s only a few months old so glad you found me! Good for you my friend, love that! Well I’m fully Festool these days…. I sold a kidney but it was worth it 😜🤣 Please feel free to ask any questions or I if you require any advice on a certain machine as I pretty much have the lot now! It’s expensive but superb and the best there is hands down so if you can justify it then go for it 🤩 Thank you. The MFT bench is superb and an absolute game changer. I’ll be doing some in depth videos so keep an eye out. If there is any particular videos you’d find of interest please let me know and I’ll try my best to cover that for you Have a great evening and congratulations on your retirement 👍
@@woodpeckersworkshop very kind of you to reply, i will be interactive, no doubt, take care matey !
Just sub’d, that MFT table is awesome.
Thank you very much, I really appreciate that! 👊🔥 I’m super happy with the MFT bench and how it’s come together. Just need to finish a few bits off like the router fence and extraction etc. Glad you like it Thanks for the message 👌
This a dream shop! Great tools and realy organized 😀 thanks for the great tour this is how these videos should be done
Thank you so much 😊 It’s been a huge investment and a lot of thought and time has gone into it but almost there! 👊 Thanks for the kind words and keep an eye out as there’s going to be some really cool content coming 🙌
I don’t think Micky Flanagan could afford this set up😂

@@woodpeckersworkshop Top setup. Watched the whole video which is rare for me! All the best.
Much appreciated! thank you very much for the support 👊
Looking very nice 👍
Thank you very much 🤗🙏
Very nice - just curious how everyone keeps their shops so sawdust free. My shop is constantly covered in sawdust and I have plenty of dust collection.
Hey there! Trust me it’s not magic and a constant battle like us all my friend …… wish there was a magic answer but sadly not! 😬🤦♂️ Flexvolt Dewalt leaf blower is awesome and helps heaps 👌 air filtration system and then extractors and hoovering like a lunatic 😜 Thanks for the message Rich
A great tour and use of space
Thank you, very much appreciated. 🙏 It’s so much harder with a small space to get everything in and functioning properly but I’m happy so far Thanks for the message 👊
Great video, where are the corner clamps from?
Amazon mate. Bandy clamps by Rockler they are called
Fantastic workshop mate, you have done a fabulous job, I’m really jealous 😢 keep up the videos
Thanks, will do! Glad you like them. 👊
Probably not a good idea to have that grinder next to a pile of wood...........lol
It’s not a grinder as such and is a water stone. No heat, no sparks so pretty safe but thanks for the concern anyway.
