Thank you so much for the tip and quick question i noticed you specifically selected the one and only instrument itself for a string section to be routed on one track for one string instrument piece like a per instrument type of way to go about it in which i never thought about but whats your approach on the plugins that play all the instruments at once? Or is it the same difference? As it makes it easier if all the strings are there on one track vs 50 tracks in which you wouldnt need to specifically adjust the low mid or high end range exactly let alone specifically in what ever needs to be corrected regarding microspic adjustments if that makes since lol or to adjust the slightest error for it to be balanced out properly to cut through the mix lol rather than playing all the separate parts of the Orchestra section wouldn't it be easier for it to all be on one track unless maybe a certain part was needed in one of the string registers? And lastly how do you go about panning the string section? As thats my biggest battle with mixing strings lol thank you

Thanks for this video. It taught me so much about, not just the Fat Channel emulations, but compression in general. I have watched many videos trying to get the most from the Fat Channel because I have the Studiolive 32S. All I ever saw was shootouts or just basic function coverage. I don’t personally care how they compare to the original unit or if the same knob position gives the same result. I care about what it takes to get the result I want. Your knowledge of the units and how to navigate them is indispensable. The music you are working on is well recorded, as well which makes it easy to hear what the compressors are doing. 👏🏾👏🏾💯

Great video man. I play in A, E0 and F# so I'm always looking for tips to tighten up the low end. I find adding a limiter before compression is also really helpful.

I notice that you have soothe2, but did not apply it to this track. What was the reason for not using this? Was it because you were going to add more later, like compression?

Hello great video :) I have a question though: don't super fast attack/release times produce distortion in the low end, since their timings are comparable to the period of the lew frequency waveform, making the compressor ride the waveform (instead of the envelope)? I can hear the distortition produced when the multiband compressor is engaged.

How about when using real strings?

Hopefully this makes sense, but do you happen to know if there's a way to automatically have Studio 0ne (7) add and open a new layer when in loop recording without having to go in and clicking "add a new layer"? essentially opening a new track after each recording attempt so you can see then all stacked... Similar to how logic pro works?

I really like your video , I wish you would show how you went out of studio live and back in on your board.I have a studio live32s and use the mix out11 and12 to send my signal to my Manley and come back in on 20 and 21. Every time I try this I get a feedback. I have a lot of expensive gear like Manley,Avalon, Warm audio, Vintech, and more and I don't want to mess anything up. I came in on USB but something is not right. I would appreciate any help you could offer. I just bought a Presonus 1824 USB to try it for my mix down.
