There is more physical contact in this than almost any other contact sport aside from MMA. You would probably change your tune once you got your nose broken by an arrow at 35lb draw.

@stakahz4513 they really aren't though. Halberds and the like are much lighter to wield than you think. Besides this is a sport. People don't complain that a soccer ball isn't the weight of a stone or ball made of wood. We enjoy it for the competition not the realism.
