THE SHEEPSHEAD BAIT NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT TILL NOW!
Testing different baits for sheepshead fishing, from salted oysters, night crawlers, and even tube worms. I couldn't find any information online about tube worms. if you know anything about tube worms please share it with me in the comments. please feel free to share your successes and failures while using different baits for sheepshead. has anyone had any success using salted baits for sheepshead what and how did you do it? thank you in advance!

In July Free diving Boca grande pass like you've never seen it before water was crystal clear and we timed our tides just right so it was slack tide, We could go into the deeper part of the channel where normally the screaming tide won't let you go. so the wires about $325 for a roll there is a 100 foot in a roll, and it's 2 ft tall. But ask any construction worker or Carpenter. Your end product is only going to be as good as your building material! Buy the good stuff or you will have a junkie pin. I spent too much time money and effort in catching bait to put it in anything but the best. # livebaitpen #baitpen #livebait

Olena ,Pavel , Kelsey and I. Went fishing in a Northport lake with cichlids fore bait, we had some really nice brim too but the fish seem to prefer the smaller bait even the big fish. Most of the peacock bass we caught were on the smaller side. We easily caught over 26 this day. no I do not have the rights to the music. #peacockbass #Northport #freshwater #invasivefish

Did you use non iodized salt? I've done better with salted squid when I used the non iodized salt vs regular table salt.
Yes it was (non iodized salt) weard wight. The Sheephead wouldn't touch the bait.
Pantyhose and barnacles..... No prep. 1 gallon milk jug. Molds to the pylon. Scrap scrap scrap... Make a few panty-barnacle-balls. Use the extra for chum. Nice clip. I tapped the thumbs up 👍 button to feed the algorithm monsters.

@skindiver61 I've never done it. I fish all artificial, which means I DON'T catch sheepshead. But.... An old-timer told me that trick. I never forgot it. So I passed it on to someone who might use it more than I. Good luck.
Great fishing info video,..however the sound is very bad. Fix your sound system, the fishing info is great as it is...I watched till the end and caught a few gems there too.

Someone told me they are cracking down on people spearing here. Could be whack into tho. Is it still legal ?
Lee county passed a code (2 years ago) Where you're not allowed to spearfish within 500 hundred yrd of the shore line. Years ago (10 or so) you couldn't spearfish in charlotte county (the Train track trussels). What I heard was the county couldn't make a code that superseded the state. So they did away with that code.
These are different rules than the normal.No spearfishing within a 100 yards of a public swimming beach, public fishing pier, or state park. And yes They started giving out warnings.I know two different people that got them, It says no (spear fishing) , So Grabbing stone crabs and snorkeling are probably okay
@@skindiver61 we dove the furthest broken phosphate docks the last 2 days without any issues and seen some other divers there. It’s gotta be 500 yards exactly from shore

Great video. Can you please provide a link to the Clear PVC tubing you used. I have access to the Grey (Electrical) and White (Plumbing) 1/2 inch PVC tubes but I could see where the clear tubing would not scare the Lobsters away as much. Also, is there anyway to crimp the Ferrules without buying that expensive crimp tool? Thank you!
The clear pvc I ordered online, i'm sorry. I don't remember where from, but I just use white pvc now, 99% of the fish in the ocean have a white belly, four camouflage. The clear ones I lose easier underwater, lol . I've heard of animal trappers just hammering the ferrules flat wen bilding Snares. I'm not sure how a flat one would work in the pvc pipe.
@@skindiver61 Thank you for replying. I just arrived home from HD and bought White PVC. I am traveling and need to fit this in my Suitcase which can fit 30" max, so I am going to use 2 pieces and use a 1/2 inch slip connector so I can fold it into my suitcase. I just have to make sure my measurements are correct so I don't have too much slack. Have you ever had a request for a travel version of this? Also, mine will end up being almost 5ft when I put it together at our destination. Do you see any problem with that length?
@pittsburghpetfencellc8092 I don't build them to sell. I use them, I have heard of people making long snares 5ft + fore special Situations. But I have never needed one. I'm sure it will work gust fine, though .

Lol, Most of the time, we don't see a shark, On a good incoming tide, it's generally pretty clear if the Gulf of mexico has clear water.

It just depends on the time of year, last month in november they were horrible down there, I think they were migrating through to the keys for the winter,and April-Jun during tarpon season the shark can get bad to.

Sorry I missed your comment, I'm not sure what diameter it was, but it is air line tubing you get at a pet store for Bubblers in the aquariums. Pretty cheap

Thanks for the video. Why put the rubber piece on the loop? Do you really think it would crack the carapace without? Sometimes the lobster are backed into the hole so much that it is easier to snare the knuckle. Without that rubber piece the wire could get tighter around the spines and knuckle.
No I don't think it would, But the way the Lobster driving rules are written in Florida, your not allow to use anything capable of puncturing or crushing the lobster. Don't quote me on the law though.
Yeah the law says "Use any device that could puncture or crush the lobster is prohibited." Which any snare could crush the lobster carapace. I don't think the little rubber piece keeps the snare from crushing the lobster.

@@skindiver61 unfortunately not I made it quick last year, I just took a 12ft peice of pvc cut 2ft off put a 90 added the 2ft and added a cap like yours are ran the cable all the way through

Def cool! I live near np and I was starting to catch them in punta Gorda and ft Myers area an that stumped me! I resurched that they migrate about every 10 years north due to temp changes. Kinda cool to see them in our pond an canal systems now not ganna lie! It's checked off alot of bucket list fish for anglers now! Great video guys small channel an that makes me a new sub! Hope to see more cool content from our neck of the woods an what it has to offer an see the true Florida that's still untouched. Seems like everytime I change my boxers there's a new houseing development goin up now 😂 an the ol farts try to stop you from just fishing rediclous! I'm sure others are having the same problem?

I never actually fished it before, last time I was there we were walking around the pond and then all of a sudden wind and rain started chasing us lol. We ran as fast as we could to the car and started laughing when we realized what just happened was kind of like a COD mission.🤣

If you glue it together, then you can't replace the cable when it wears out ( Kinks up). Just snug it up and I've never had an issue with it

This spot has had peacocks in it for over a decade and your the only one posting videos about it. Its gonna be ruined bc your foolishness. And I see your takin fish out and bringing them other places.. they wont live in other ponds for very specific reasons. Your literally destroying something great. Enjoy it by yourself and stop ruining something that folks have been workin hard at for years. You ought to remove the video.

Yes, I guess somebody caught a bunch down south and brought them up hear, judging by all the babies we see in the pond now, I'm assuming they're doing pretty good.. I know of at least 4 different people that have caught peacockbass out of this pond and taking them to other Ponds in Northport and turn them loose. So there's probably quite a few different Ponds in Northport with peacock bass in them now.

I suggested Lake Ida because you can catch peacocks and clownfish in it.
