tl;dr : For anything GT3 level in AMS/AMS2, you MUST tweak the settings. The cars are NOT drivable right out of the garage. The main thing you have to tweak is simple: Go into drivetrain settings and reduce the LSD Clutch from 6 to 2. I'm a bit late but I can definitely recommend AMS 2 after literally a few tweaks for gt3 level cars (and this works for most other cars with this issue). I had the EXACT same issues with it simply being inconsistent and I found it from a random youtube comment on another video. All you have to do is go into drivetrain settings and reduce the LSD Clutch from 6 to 2. Then the basic things you have to do in AMS- lower the air pressure in the rear tires by about 10 and lower the height in the back. After I luckily found this guys random recommendation, something told me to try it as I am currently playing a championship with stadium super trucks on AMS1. It makes the gt3 cars in AMS 2 SO MUCH BETTER. You still need to pay a bit of attention as it's not like ACC where you can just turn your brain completely off and drive but in terms of consistently of getting into and out of turns? It's completely fixed with said settings. Just as a test to make sure I wasn't seeing things with rose-colored goggles, I immediately fired up rFactor 2 and the cars seemed MORE slippery in it than AMS 2. I think it has something to do with Reiza game engine because I even downloaded the EEC GT3 mod for AMS 1 and they're almost the same- feels a little like you're on ice and a little unpredictable until you tweak it.

I played PC2 RF2 AC and ACC, now a few weeks ago I bought AMS1 and now understand why it was more difficult for me to play PC2 AC and ACC, the real natural feeling is missing in my experience, especially the contact with the road. In AMS1 I feel the tires skidding or locking, but also leaning in corners. Only now can I make progress in sim racing, but from scratch

I agree with a lot of what you said there! As a beguiner sim racer Raceroom allows me to get good online racing in a game with fantastic physics for less than 10€ (stareter pack)

Ok help us out here. My son and I just started. A lot of practice through a week of snow days. We're ready to go ranked racing. The only thing we can find is miata races which we dont own. Is that all their is? Now that school and work is back on we primarily race from 6-10 at night. Is that the problem?

AMS2 continues to have too much grip at the limits of traction and at extreme slip angles. As a test, see how hard you can get on the brakes when trailbraking, and see how little the cars punish you with understeer.

A spacer would fix that QR issue but I guess you’d then want to sticker spacers on any other wheels you own maintain the same wheel distance

The wheel worked fine for a few days, then I started having issues. The firmware on the moza universal hub messes with the FFB on my VRS wheel base. I lose all FFB when using this wheel and universal hub. I’ve uninstalled and installed Moza pithouse multiple times and can’t fix it. If you have a VRS base, beware before buying.

I have been eyeing this wheel for a while. I really want rev lights on the wheel. Is there anyway in the software to make the lights blink? They are coming out with a HYPER SL, but will be higher priced well over $1000 and will take a while after NOV pre orders. Great Video!

I'm looking to replace my V3's Fanatec pedals There are so many options. 1 - they will be floor mounted. 2 - I play most of the time, F1 / open wheel cars. What's the difference between Simagic P1000 and P2000? Everyone is talking about the P1000 haptic motors. I've read / seen / some RUclips videos, they are pretty loud. Is that true ? How is the stiffness difference between P1000 and P2000 ? No matter what I purchase, there will be a 2 set pedals. What would you recommend, guys, for about 800 - 900 euro? The old gravel and ice physics were my biggest bug bear. I've seen cars lose control at the start of the infield section of Daytona, slide all the way to the other end of the grass, taking out multiple cars.

It is a normal urge to want to play AMS1 :D

First of all you didn't sound stupid. I agree with most of what you said. Look i-racing can do a lot of things with all the money they're making. All the various sims all have pros and cons. We just have to find the we can live with. With covid disappearing fewer people will be racing online. Let's see how that goes. Mr. Gaming Muscle once said, ' the better you become the worse sim racing gets ' or something like that.

VR on Raceroom also is great but again they didnt even to try make a different VR menu .

Raceroom and AC have the best FFB and physics'. But Raceroom menu settings payment method and some graphical bugs makes it hard to be in 1st place .

According to Niels Heusinkveld, who was one of the physics devs for Automobilista (not involved in AMS 2 due to running his own company), AMS 2 DOES copy AMS physics (at least the code for them) so the only real difference is the change from GMotor to Madness Engine. Since I haven't played AMS 2, I can't really speak for myself, but people whom I trust have made plenty of complaints about AMS 2 physics. Then again, there are others who think it's the best sim around. I'm definitely going to grab it when on sale since AMS is pretty dead online, but it's not an enthusiastic purchase, more of a curiosity. By the way, someone has made a plugin that adds VR to AMS and it seems to be really great. Again, Niels has made videos on it, since he has become a VR only guy.

Races scheduled on every half hour with a 20-25 min races would be better... giving people a 5 min pee break.

You are really correct when you say that the FFB is really special, the car feels like they have the correct weight and the tyre model is fantastic... catching slides, etc...
