Every time I see this video attached to this classic, I get tears. Thank you so much for not only the great work on the video; but for letting everyone remember who our heroes are in times of need.

"a lot of people need you there is trouble in the world", A nice line but Mary knew that was BS. She was against that war in NAM and didn't want to do this song. More appropriate words would have been "a lot of rich men need you please go to Nam and make these rich men richer" even if you will die, then you will have done your proud patriot thing making the few richest people who really runs this country even richer. Is that being patriotic????? So many people said "I hate that phony war in Viet Nam, but I was proud to go over there and do my patriotic chore. THAT MAKES NO SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing I overlooked was how Mary had such a SEXY VOICE to go with her beautiful body. When you hear a voice like that, you know the singer who has that voice must be very very sexy lady, AND SHE WAS!!!

This is such a great song, I don't know why it wasn't a number one hit, but maybe that long spoken passage should have been cut up more and sung instead. The "long live our love" chorus is so catchy, and it's not pro war, it says, our love has to survive the war, to give you a cause for some happiness after all you've been through, something to think about, a reward for your survival and an incentive to survive.

Not every guy who went to Viet Nam had a girl friend waiting at home for him. For that reason this song should have been played by the Gov't, if a young man knows that he has a great girl waiting for him at home, not only will that make him fight better, but he will do anything to impress her. But the Gov't missed out on this one. If Mary Weiss was my girl, I would do anything to make her proud of me! Even tho Mary was against the war in Viet Nam. She didn't even want to do this song because she was against the war in Viet Nam, but never the less, a woman would be impressed when her man came home a war hero or not. I had a friend who got killed his first week in Viet Nam, his only reason to go there instead of Canada was his girl friend threatened to leave him if he went to Canada. See the difference between Mary Weiss and so many other dumb women in 1969.

This is NOT a PRO Viet Nam war song, in fact Mary didn't want to do this song because she was against the war. But I;m glad she did as I fell in love with her because of this song. You may ask why did she do it, because her manager made her do it. Mary could have been a superior musician if she didn't have to listen to her managers, not to mention in my opinion this very sexy group didn't have to do silly songs that appeased guys on their motor-cycles. Mary and her two twin friends from school were RED HOT, and they could have called all of the shots. But somehow someway you angels don't realize it. I guess it is up to the mother to teach their daughters just how [powerful they are. I remember about 3 of them from my class at the age of 13-14. They had half of the boys from my class rapped around their little finger. They would do anything those girls told them to do. I later figured out that their Moms told their young daughters how much power their 14 year old girls had over 14 year old boys. They both had a lot of fun.

My favourite Vietnam song. Forget protest or pro-war crap. The Shrangri-Las sing for the gals home waiting. This wonderful montage fills my eyes with tears.

I will never forget when these girls came on TV, I was not a fan of them, but wow, what 3 hot girls! Two of them were goregeous twins, one died in 1970 and the other angel died in 1994. It just makes you think, we are born, then may have 1 or 100 years. Time goes by so fast. Those two twins thrilled the heck out of me and many millions of other young boys, where are they now?????????? As far as Mary is concerned, she is my age. Wondering what you do when you are 65 on a beautiful April day, we'll not Mary, but me. I still feel like I'm 15, but there is nothing for us 60's something to do, and nobody cares about you as if they are saying, allright won't you just die?

"You are in my heart both night and day", if Mary would have said that to me I would have been sure I would have made it home and be united with Mary again. It's amazing the power a great woman has over how a man thinks and performs. I didn't have anybody special like Mary when I was in the Army in 1969. It's amazing how a man will do anything to impress the woman that he loves, while without her, not really care that much.

Where is Gina Mitchell, she looks like she should have been part of this group. I love you Gina, did you know Johnny Mathis wrote a song about you? It's title was GINA, Gina.....................I feel so wonderful, so very wonderful now that Gina belongs to me.

Those two gorgeous twins were Mary's school friends. Mary Ann and Marg. Mary Ann died when she was still young and very beautiful in 1970 from a illness that caused her to have seizures. Her beautiful twin sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1994 and died in 1996, which makes me wish we can increase the pink color for breast cancer month in I think October. I re fell in love with Mary the lead singer on You Tube that I didn't pay attention to those hot twins, but when I first saw these girls in 1965ish on TV, the three girls knocked me off of my feet. I had seen rock bands male and female for many years by the time I was 15, but those three angels just blew me away. I hear Mary and Betty Weiss are alive and doing fine. I love all four of you Angels!!!!!!!!!

Somebody brought it to my conscious attention that the two twins were those two gorgeous ladies flanked to Mary's left and right and that they aren't with us anymore. I think his name was Spear from "you cheated you lied" video here on You Tube. Thank you Mr. Spear, since I discovered this great song on You Tube I just stare at Mary, but those twins, Mary's friends were hot too, and you are right, THEY ARE THE TWINS! They say energy can't be destroyed, but it just changes into something different, so those two lovely ladies are somewhere. They are no more older then me but maybe for a year or two. I wonder where they are. What gorgeous chemistry, Mary and those other two beautiful twins, no wonder those three girls knocked me out of my chair I was setting on when I first seen this group on a music TV show in 65 or 66. I still remember it like if it was yesterday. I seen a lot of rock groups before, but the Shangri-'Las were oh so good looking!

I know the Mary Weiss today looks different then the Angel of 1966, but every time I play this song it takes me back to the mid 1960's when Mary was that Goddess, and in reality, except for mostly physical changes SHE is still the same angel or person that she was in 1966. Mary was Mary when she was 4, she was the famous Mary when she was 17, and still the same Mary at 50 or 65 and she will be that same lovable person when she is 85. Her spirit remains the same, only her interests, body and beliefs may have changed. I love you Mary!.

Great group who did some classic songs. But I don't like the horns or the military connection in that song. Sounds more like a patriotism propoganda song.

The most underrated singer ever, Mary Weiss.

One of the greatest songs I ever heard sung by one of the most beautiful girl I ever seen. If I only known you when I was 15, 14 and 13, I'd had owned all of your records. Before Long Live our Love, your music wasn't my style, but Mary's beauty would have changed that. BTW, I loved the way you sang "you cheated you lied".

What a sweet and sexy voice Mary had! It's strange like in the mid 60's when this song entered the top 40 for what must have been one week then went the other way. How could that be I asked 50 years ago?! In my opinion the most great hidden song of all times. It didn't go with their previous songs in my opinion, but far superior. Yet way back in the mid 60's I only got to hear it 2 or 3 times and it was never played on all those oldie stations much because they just focused on number one songs. Hence why I have played it over and over again the past year when the memory of this great song popped into my mind and I was able to rediscover it on You Tube. I don't care for facebook, twitter, but this You Tube site is a great sight! I've been told that there are even more things I can do on this site then listen to oldies! Like how to learn how to play games, and I've even seen muscians upload their music! Wow if they can do it, I can do it! As you can tell, I'm 2014 internet illerate. But I want to learn!

In all fairness, the couple girls that were flanked to her left and right were pretty good looking too. So my original perceptions as a 14 or 15 year old when I first saw them on TV were, my God, they are the most beautiful rock band I have ever seen! were correct. It was sad to read that one of the twin girls, (Mary's school friends in the group died in 1971, so young).

And if there is reincarnation, then I hope she and I are in the first grade together this time around, and of course in the same town. I was in the army in 1969 and just hearing the comfort from this angels voice sure would have made me feel better, and inspired me far more then any drill sargent could have ever done. It's strange the kind of power that a woman has over a soldier.

Do you notice how Mary looks different then the other 2 or 3 ladies in the group? The other two and sometimes three are very pretty, but Mary is a rare beauty that comes along maby once every 1000 years, and of course her singing goes along with her beauty! All I can say is I ADORE HER!

Mary the ladies flanked to your left and right are cute, but how can we get used to rem them when you are so gorgeous that we can't stop looking at you, it's just not fair to the other cute members of the group. If this would have been your first hit, I would have loved anything Mary Weiss did after that. I'm so ashamed that I didn't realize who was singing Leader of the Pack etc.
