Yeah he is one of the stronger ones. There's a mod that allows you to equip him as a pet. So instead of taking a companion slot, he is a pet. But its a bit broken, because then u have a party of 5, when the game was made for a party of 4

It takes a bit to understand, but if you played games like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and so on, you will actually understand the magic. The part that took a while to understand was the HP/Endurance part. In Fights, you use endurance instead of HP, but if your HP drops to 0, your character dies. The only way to recover HP, is by resting. I think I explained it on my latest video that will release tomorrow.

I would jump in and enjoy it, without worrying much about it's depth. The game is well balanced, so that on normal difficulty, you can succeed in most fights with a bit of intuition, without knowing exactly how the abilities or stats work. You'll come across the odd fight that is impossible to win without more knowledge or levels, but they're mostly optional and designed to come back to later when you're stronger.
