Where are you located
If our government wasn’t a mistress of the auto industry it would step up and make Ford replace ALL of these engines so strapped families who put their faith in Ford wouldn’t be stuck in an impossible place. But, this administration is more interested in paying for college loans for students who don’t have the burden of providing for a family like so many owners of Ford cars with this crap design. Come on Biden…..quit supporting potential voters and have the balls to go up against big industries sneering at us consumers as they sell us unsuspecting customers their crap!!
Yes Sir engine flush with every oil change. My 2014 impala gets 2 oil changes a year. Nov & May so I'm ready for winter & summer. My tip is to jack the car up on the driver side about six inches and let it drain for at least 1 hour. Or until you can count to 30 without seeing any oil drip out. The oil drain plug is on the passenger side facing the rear of the car. I drive about 10000 miles a year.
bro i buy 1 from ebay and when i put it i was hard to shift only reverse but i call my mecanic and he tell me that i need to buy a new 1 from nissan no from ebay
What do you recommend if I got a low coast brake solenoid code and my reverse doesent go into gear at times , I have a 3.7 automatic transmission
I have a 2011 Buick Enclave with 184k miles on it. I follow the factory oil change guide (7,500 miles) and infrequently add a ceramic additive. I think changing the oil every 5,000 is a prudent suggestion. I also encourage replacing the PCV valve and breather tubes every 75k miles. Enlarging the breather holes on the PCV valve is strongly encouraged.
My mom has a 2012 chevy traverse. I do the oil changes for her every 5k miles. It has 190k on it now and its running great.
More power to you brother. You are good. God bless
To much junk on the over head cam engines. Chain Tentioners is another issue. I prefer the old single can push rod setup
I have a 2017 escape drinking coolant. Ford should recall those witj this problem I am not alone with this prob.
Your videos are amazing. I really like it. I am a new subscriber to your channel. Can I talk with you Boss Automotive?
No sir those are the input speed sensors, the output speed sensor is on the tail shaft. 9 times out of 10 it's the driver in the TCM that goes out and not the output speed sensor itself.
So what do you need to replace?
@@tlb2345 The whole valve body that the TCM is attached to which is about $1600 - 1700 from the dealer. Stay away from the eBay junk because they really can't be rebuilt. Just did one on my buddies 2017 Armada. Truck is running well now.
Timing chain looks like Audi designed it 😂
i did this job but i cant bleed the system. tooo much air... idk what the issue is what do you recommend
Thanks the break down of the cvt. Ive always suspected that the coolers size and efficiency was to blame. Simple parts for them to have their part supplier upgrade. But they choose not to .....to knock you over the head for 8-10k at dealer ship. Id take the the interchiller cooler set up from q50 3.0t and modify for the Maxima and Altimas. And change fluid every 9mos. Amsoil cvt trans fluid as well. Suspect Nissan made fluid to fail suddenly as well lol it
Without even watching this guys Video. Change oil religiously!
FORD GM ALL MADE ENGINES W/ one timing chain and they ran for ever NOW car engines have four cams four - five timing chains DESIGNED ONLY to FAIL OVER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME & PLUS WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU INSTALL THE WATER PUMP INSIDE W/ THE TIMING CHAIN THATS LUBRICATED BY OIL IF THE WATER PUMP FAILS YOUR ENGINE IS FUCKED. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻🤦♂️🤷🏿🤷🏿♂️
Ps this CVT trans only lasted 109k
Gr8 video thank you I’ve got one in a 2013 versa that needs done where can I get the parts for the rebuild ???
Where are you located? And do you recommend you replace the gaskets both engine manifolds and the supercharger one?
I wish I could afford too replace mine, its pulling a P017 but i's a 2008 and I got the vehicle for free. Hoping it doesn't fail on me within the next year or so. Doing regular oil changes praying she keeps me going to work!
Thank you! This video helped me make a decision on buying one!

Excellant, Best of the Best.
Did this require to program the TCM? I heard that if it isn’t programmed the car won’t switch gears correctly. Not sure who to believe lol
Yes just buy a Toyota and you won't have to deal with this bullshit
Very interesting! Great video bro thanks for breaking it down like you did so even a dummy like me can understand.🙏🇺🇸✌
This is not correct u can change the tcm on top of the valve body which is where the problem is cus yes the sensor loves to sort circuit but it can be changed
2014 ford focus st, 195000 miles, no major engine issues. I do need to replace my spark plugs and ignition coils due to possible misfires. Any issues I had with the car was due to mr being drunk lol
Very straightforward with your teachings. Thank you for keeping it simple I’m not so intimidated by these CVT’s anymore. God bless you bro 🙌
Got a 2007 STS, v6 3.6. It has had the recommended oil put for the entirety of the engines life (full synrhetic says 7k but I do it 4k). I check my oil everytime I put gas in it. My car is 17 years old and runs as quiet as a hybrid. I replaced the starter and water pump only thus far.
Every 2k miles. Excessive maybe, but way cheaper than a motor
Where did you bought the replacement
I don't go by miles...I go by the look of the oil...when it starts to get dark brown...change it...simple...NEVER GO BY THE OIL GUAGE OR MILAGE...GO BY LOOK OF OIL
Do you have, or can you point me to where I could find torque specs for the: * Throttle body bolts * Top super charger bolts * Inner super charger bolts * Any others I missed I think I'm going try this myself but don't want to under/over torque anything. :) Thanks!
Just replaced the water pump in my wife's 2017 RR Sport. Still have a slow leak, seeing a puddle in the valley, likely this. This video was super helpful, thank you! I'll be trying to replace those parts with the aluminum versions. 👍
Anyone know where I can get a used one ? For a 2015 Q50 3.7
Junkyard what city do u live in
Or any car rebuilder shop
is there a better gen engine to drop in?
Is synthetic oil bad on these older designs?
So much negative talk online about the 3.6, is it really bad and how does it compare to the 3.8?
I still own a 07 grand prix with the famous 3.8 V6 NA with 160,000k miles ❤. Also have a 2014 Enclave with 100,000K miles on it running good, the key for the 3.6 V6 was to replace the oil (by myself) with full synthetic top quality oil and filter every 5K miles. I just removed the rear valve cover to replace the imposible to pull out PCV valve for the first time (should have been done a long time ago) and replace the original AC delco spark plugs. I was very surprised that the valve cover was not as bad as I thought it would be, and the spark plugs came out dry, no oil on any of any of them. By the touch, the secondary timing chain doesn't feel loose. Also, I can't find any sludge buid up on any part that was exposed en thar side of the engine. Now, since I know the condition of the engine on that more problematic side I'll start changing the oil at 4K miles just to keep it healthy. Definitely it's nor simple and reliable as the 3800 series 3 V6 but it's not as bad as many people are saying it just requires a bit more attention.
great stuff
So I just bought a 2017 Q50s Red sport, should I expect this valve body failure?
No keep up with fluid and battery.
I kept up with fluid and battery. I now have to replace the valve body.
@@AS-wd5et I did as well on my qx70 shit still went out so Yeah your right could be manufactured poorly as well they go at around 80k miles apparently we're not the only ones they were on backorder last year and highly inflated on pricing happened to me.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge I appreciate it God bless you
How much is a refurbished valve body
LIKE 3-400
Only thing you forgot is while filling up the trans to shift through all the gears and then check the overfill so all the chambers fill up. If not it will be low.
Hello, I have a 2012 Chevy impala with a 3.6 engine. It has a little over 200,000 miles. One day while coasting down the hwy it suddenly sputtered out, after rolling to a stop I attempted to restart the motor and it turned over 3 or 4 times then siezed up. The motor has been regularly maintained with oil changes. Could the motor failure been caused by a broken timing chain?
142,000 miles Fiesta ST 1.6🙂
Thanks for the knowledge on the engines!
I have a 2014 escape. From what I am seeing this problem started in the 2015 motors. The best I have been able to find is Ford changed the cly/bore and that made the spacing between the cly/ closer and caused the cooling problem that's why the very small slit you see between the cyl/. My 2 problems are the rear end aliment I fixed with a aftermarket kit and the evap/ system as it to will cause some of the same problems you mentioned. BUT your right I'm looking at a new vehicle and avoiding FORD. Just don't understand after all these years they have not fixed this problem. Very sad on their part.
Awesome video bro!!! Simple and on point!!! I was looking for a video on the Nissan CVT Transmission for a Bluebird Sylphy KG11 MR20 which threw a P0868 DTC. Through your video atleast I now know where the Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor is located as well!!! Keep up the good work brother!!!
