Wow, i didn't know all of this but i do my lasik surgery and everything went really well with surgery. I guess that this was completely fault of the doctors and clinic that give you green light as a candidate and i hope you sue them and win the case.

Hey! I came from your LASIK video. I was wondering if you would think your LASIK experience is due to previous dry eye complications or could it happen to healthy eyes. I was wondering since I am considering the surgery and I never had dry eyes and am considered a good candidate. Appreciate if you could reply.❤

I’m sorry this happened to you bro I got lasik done in Japan and I couldnt be happier, I always heard horror stories about lasik in the past, so I did alot of research and thankfully had some friends go to the clinic and got the procedure done before me, I just waiting for 1 years to see their results and if they had any negative symptoms and surprisingly all 4 of them still highly recommend it and had zero issues. That’s when I made my decision to go through with it. Best advice I can give to those that are thinking about doing this procedure is DO YOUR RESEARCH prior to making your decision, ask questions and speak up if you feel something isn’t right . Don’t cheap out, the doctors will give you choices on different packages depending on equipment and pricing. There will always be a cheap package, don’t take it unless you’re positive you understand what you’re getting and are willing to go through with the risk! there’s plenty of choices out there for different types of people. Your eyesight is nothing to take lightly.

I know eye pain. I have dry eye and mouth syndrome, I’ve been in hospital 3 times now with corneal ulcers, having 1/2 hourly eyes drops ! I have permanent double vision, glasses don’t help and my eye sight is bad anyway. It’s painful to have dry eyes let alone photophobia and nerve pain behind the eye. I’m really sorry. Your vision is your lifeline! It’s disabling x

Wish he named the clinic, read the reviews!! I have not met a person that didn’t have a great experience. If you go to a cheap place and has terrible reviews thats on you. Not saying that is the case here but not naming the clinic is suspect.

Here's my story with femtolasik surgery. I had 4.50 on my right eye and 4.25 on my left eye. My eyes were a bit dry from acne drugs (that I stopped taking 5 to 6 years prior to lasik) and from wearing eye contacts for a long time. The last year before the surgery I only occasionally wore my contacts and a month before I didn't wear them at all. Mind you my eyes were not thaaat dry and I could produce enough tears as expected of my age. I stopped wearing makeup and put eye drops in my eyes 2 weeks before the surgery. But around 10 days before lasik I mistook the bottle of eyedrops for a bottle that had some sort of acid in it... the moment the drop came in contact with my left eye I felt pain and I immediately washed my eye with tap water. Half an hour later I was at my doctor's office and he told me I had a mild case of corneal burn. He said that it was nothing and if I sleep it off I will be just fine the next day and we could continue with the lasik that was scheduled in 10 days.. I followed the instructions and the next day I saw a different doctor to get a second opinion on the burn and the lasik surgery. She said my eye was fine and I should worry more about the dryness than the healed burn. My left eye now was veeeery dry perhaps from all the water that went to it and she also told me that I had conjunctivitis which my first doctor didn't even told me about. She prescribed some eye drops and also reassured me that by the time I get my lasik done I would be just fine. Everyday up until the surgery I felt some mild pain in my left eye (dryness I guess?) but each day it was getting better. The day of they checked my eyes again and did multiple tests to assure once again I was a good candidate for femtolasik. My doctor came and told me that my results were good and we could continue as planned. They gave a pill to calm my nerves and after waiting about 2 hours it was my turn for the surgery. They went through all the preparations for my eye and started with my right one. The first laser even though I was informed of the pressure I was gonna feel, hurt like hell.. I thought they were gonna rip my eye out honestly.. the nurse was holding my hand trying to calm me down and after a few seconds I did. Then it was time for the second laser that shapes the cornea. The second laser took about 30s to correct my vision. I panicked again as I could not see anything and I could smell the cornea that it was cutting/burning. On the left eye I did not move at all as I knew how the procedure went by then. After surgery both of my eyes were filled with tears and I would not stop crying each time I had them open. So I kept them closed for the most part. They checked my eyes again, gave me instructions and I was good to go. My eyes were in so much pain and they stung so bad but 4 to 5 hours later they were better. I followed and keep following the instructions they gave me. It's been 4 days since lasik. I can see very well but a tiny bit blurry(still can read and write). The thing is while my right eye seems ro be doing great and doesn't hurt at all, my left one still hurts a bit each time I blink. It's a bit better today but I am still worried as in comparison my right eye doesn't hurt at all... I have my second post op appointment tomorrow and I hope everything goes well.. hopefully it's something that it's going to disappear.. To be honest so far even though I had quite a few complications along the way and the pain that I now have is tolerable beeing able to see is just...quite incredible really..

I had LASIK 2 years ago. It worked well and I was very nearsighted. What I will say is the pain I had after the procedure was extreme. The procedure was done 90 miles from my home. My husband drove me home and I cried the entire trip. I got home and took extra pain meds and the Valium they gave me and I slept for 2 hours. When I woke up the pain was reduced by 50%. Within 2 days I was pain free. If I had to live with the pain I experienced that first couple hours I can tell you there is no way I could endure that.

Kind of reminds me when I went with the largest lawyer group (Morgan and Morgan) thinking they would best handle my motorcycle wreck settlement. NOPE. I did get my settlement, but they told me all the hospital bills were settled, which was a lie. Some bills still went to collections and lowered my credit score, which I was liable for somehow. When I called M&M a year later, my lawyer had left that firm and disappeared. Next time I’m staying away from large companies. I’m going smaller and local.

Thank you for posting this video. I am a diabetic myself and have had lots of complications from the diabetes. I have considered lasik myself so I go to a few places in my area and was told that it would greatly improve my vision by the first place I go to. Well unfortunately there aren't many specialists in my area but did go to another place about 2 hours away and they did a screening and the first question is do you have dry eye or ever been diagnosed with dry eye. Well I wasn't 100% sure but they asked a few questions and did a test to confirm that yes I have mild dry eye and that means I'm automatically not eligible nor a candidate for the surgery. Well I go back to the original place I had gotten the first opinon from and they said dry eye isn't any sort of an issue. Wow just wow I'm glad I listened to my instinct and the second opinon I had gotten. I hope you continue to get relief and hope you will some day not have to rely on medication to feel normal.

  • @ComputerGeekOnTwoWheels

I know exactly what you went through because it happened to me. My case was even more complicated... But in short, just wanted to say that the nerves that are cut are not pain receptors but are involved in the feedback mechanism that is responsible for keeping your eyes moist. And once nerves are cut, they do not grow back, at least with the current medical knowledge. Shocking that there is no procedure to determine where to cut on the cornea or whether the extent of the damage can be predetermined. All forms of corrective eye surgeries have risk for damaging the vital nerves on the cornea, no matter what the doctors tell you. About 5% of people who elect to have corrective eye surgery run the risk of serious complication post-surgery. It is a CASH COW and they don't want to tell you the whole story. I have read the medial reports and know what I am talking about.

I'm not a bot. I had an excellent experience. My right eye is not as sharp as my left eye at long distance as it had astigmatism to be corrected and it can be tricky to deal with, but still very good and too early to say how it will turnout. I can see perfectly at close distance on both eyes, I can see extremely well at long distance with both eyes. It really is an amazing experience for someone who has been wearing glasses for almost 30 years. This intervention is considered "aesthetic" in medical terms. It's like getting your nose done. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people have done it, and so there is plenty of statistics available to study the results. There is no such thing as 100% safe on anything. We all know planes can crash but millions of people use them everyday. Getting LASIK or PRK done is really a personal decision. It is a marvel of technology that has helped me lose the need for glasses.

I absolutely hate having to wear eye crutches(glasses). When I was a boy in the 1960's and I had to wear glasses for the first time in my life, I felt as if chains were being put on me. But, at the same time, no F (Censored) way am I going to risk losing my vision altogether, or putting myself in great pain and misery, with the dangerous practice of lasik or any other kind of eye surger, such as PRK! This is why the real solution is for medical science to invent a safe and effective way to cure all visual disabilities such as myopia without any kind of eye damaging surgery, shut down these dangerous lasik centers, and then make glasses and contact lenses all antique obsolete collector's items. For example, nobody needs to wear glasses in Star Trek.
