If the Corvette was new, it technically wasn't a good race. The c7 and c8 Corvette have an anti stupid mode engaged for the first 500 miles of ownership. That means you can't do anything stupid like race, spend the tires, do donuts, etc. My brother-in-law just bought a blue c8, brand new, and it won't let him drive like an animal.
