I've heard an animal psychologist say cats do this when they are overstimulated. So the cat is probably experiencing that overstimulation due to having to suppress its atavistic instincts that say "kill the bird!" when it can't get to the bird, or feels like it will be in trouble if it gives in.

@@Poifoprill For the first few months, he was completely silent. He would open his mouth, but nothing would come out. He started to see how it worked for his brother, so he found his meow. 😻
@@Finn-Arlo That's soo sweet! Two of my cats(siblings) that I got as kittens 5 years ago were the same. But my 18 year old cat that I've had since he was born is never quiet and he speaks with his chest! Could be because ive always talked a lot with him. So the younger siblings eventually started yapping too but they still have a very hoarse voice and no where near the powerful chest voice that my old boy has. But you can see that they are really trying cause they sometimes open their mouth so wide it looks like they are screaming but there is still not thaaat much sound being made 😁 But I of course tell them they have beautiful voices! ❤
@@Poifoprill haha. Great story. Our last cat could be heard through the whole house! With these two, Arlo is vocal when he thinks you are taking too long with food, or if he wants to be taken outside. Finn is pretty laid back. Really not sure what he was asking for besides loving. He’d just been fed hah
This is what happens when you let predators outdoors instead of keeping them as house cats. They torture and kill baby birds and small animals.
That can be true. These two are never outside unsupervised. In the two years we have had them, they have never killed anything beyond an ant. Thanks for watching!
