PIPEUP! DAILY ORGAN MUSIC HITS 100
In June 2019 William started broadcasting a daily organ mediation from the 2010 Harrison and Harrison organ of St Edmundsbury Cathedral. Six months later he completed the project having recorded 100 different pieces. His eclectic choices of repertoire has journeyed from the Baroque period to works by the English and French Romantics. He has also dabbled with some theatre organ repertoire! There is really only one piece of music which can celebrate the 100 milestone - The Toccata from Symphony No.5 by Widor.
A further project was undertaken at the end of 2020 - an Advent calendar of 24 pieces and another for Easter 2021. Enjoy!

In English-speaking countries it is generally known as "Here Comes the Bride" or "Wedding March", though "wedding march" refers to any piece in march tempo accompanying the entrance or...

Maytime Gavotte - Alfred Hollins This delightful work is typical of the organist-composer’s light, airy style. Alfred Hollins (1865-1942) was blind from birth and despite his blindness he toured internationally including the USA, South Africa (several times) and Australia and New Zealand which he visited in 1904. Down through the centuries May Day has been associated with fun, revelry and perha...

I love this.
Bravo! Bravo! This is just a great concert piece that shows off most of the stops on any organ. Couldn't have sounded better. Loved your whimsical registration.
So well played!

Placare Christe servulis from Le tombeau de Titelouze by Dupre
What is the piece you played for the ophicleide? I found the accompanying parts ver jolly?
Hippos from Animal Parade by Iain Farrington
This was EXCELLENT!! The organ sounds gorgeous and the demonstration of it was superbly done! I can't wait to get to England to hear (and hopefully play) the wonderful organs there live. Bravo!!
A wonderful demo; thank you so much!
The short piece at the beginning of the video, what was it please or was it improv ?? :)
Toccata on "O Filii et Filiae" by Lynnwood Farnham
@@WilliamSaundersorgan thankyou so much, a very powerful piece indeed, i enjoy watching organ demonstrations, not a player just an enthusiast, thankyou once again :)
That was lovely, especially on that beautiful organ!
Nicely played. You have the right tone for this music, the right articulation and the organ sounds very good indeed. Just letting the music do its thing is the right choice; there's no need to interpret it as others do, just play the notes well and let it move those that listen - that's exactly what you've done here. Great tempos and registrations that suit each of the antiphons. A perfect rendition of a marvelous work that I've played myself many times. Bravo!
Where might I find the thrilling fanfare on God Save the Queen?
It's by Gordon Jacobs
@@WilliamSaundersorgan Thanks so much. 😀
Lovely performance, William! This sounds very nice.
Always liked that lovely piece. Thank you foe sending.
Ganz schön gespielt👍
Really enjoyed the Dorian Toccata at the end of this morning’s Eucharist service as well William.
This song reminnds me christmas
Fantastic William, loving this series!!
I love it thank you ✋
Lovely!
Beautifully played. This wonderful organ is perfect for registering Dr Jackson's Prelude, drawing on his hymn tune "East Acklam". Your performance was well timed to mark Dr Jackson's 103 birthday this year in October. I also wanted to honour the great man and he very kindly gave me permission to use "East Acklam" in my own organ Prelude setting I wrote as a tribute to him, which can be heard here: ruclips.net/video/VQrX7yBSMrM/видео.html
Love it!
Thanks William. A piece of Bach that is not heard as frequently as it deserves to be in my opinion.
Listening to your great playing of varied organ music, you are really educating us choosing interesting Organ repertoire. amazing outreach on many levels, It is good to be able hear and follow cathedral musicians at work. Thankyou for all you are doing- a great inspiration.
WOW!! That is magnificent. Wonderful playing and terrific work.
Glad you like it!
Such a fun piece! :-)
Very spirited playing with a brisk and driving tempo from beginning to end adding to the drama of the music. A most enjoyable performance on a fabulous organ!
What a gem. You have such a great rapport with French organ music.
Thanks Paul for your comments
Love it. All four manuals for this but no pedal view, which I like to see.
Sorry... camera ran out of juice!
@@WilliamSaundersorgan Pleased to see it's back today. Brilliant.
Awesome
Very much my kind of music! Played superbly well.
Thank-you William for your music enjoyed - It’s a nice piece - one for the parish organist to play. Thanks again.
Exquisite. Any more from this?
Yes... some more on route plus a complete recording in September planned
Fabulous playing, maestro! (I love the way the louder you play the more the camera wobbles with the vibrations in the organ loft!)
Thank you very much!
@@WilliamSaundersorgan Wonderful comment from another maestro
WOW!! Stunning performance. ( camera shaken by pedals?)
Yes!
First rate, full of beans performance made even more exciting by the way the big pipes were shaking the camera about from time to time.
Thanks William. As brilliant as ever.
Best type of daily meditations! Thank you for cheering every day up! :-)
Glad you enjoy it!
