    What are you going to do about the small rings that you didn’t saw out????

    • @NancyJackson
      @NancyJackson Месяц назад

      I did saw out all of the rings. The ones that look like unsawn rings are tubes that I set stones in. You don't need a diamond bit for Argentium or any silver actually. It is soft enough. I had my flexshaft rotating the opposite way and that is why the drill wasn't cutting.

    I mark mine with a sharpie first before scribing so the line is easier to see.

    • @NancyJackson
      @NancyJackson 3 месяца назад

      Sharpies can help if you use it then scribe over it for a more exact line. Otherwise any sharpie line is much wider than the saw blade and will leave a lot of play for your sawing to vary leaving a more jagged or bumpy line. But using a sharpie then scribing over it will help you see the lone better.

    I have Been fusing with Argentium silver and granules too. But I always tell my students to not touch the design until it’s completely cooled down because the design can’t crack in many places…. But I do love your work ❤❤❤❤

    • @NancyJackson
      @NancyJackson 10 месяцев назад

      It doesn’t need to cool all the way. If the water sizzles instead of skittering then you are good to touch.

    • @NancyJackson
      @NancyJackson 10 месяцев назад

      If you wait until it is completely cooled then it will no longer be annealed. But there is no need to wait that long. Just drop a tiny few drops of water on it and if the water balls up and skitters then it is still too hot. If the water just sizzles without skittering then you are good. I have a video about how to tell if it is time to quench argentium.

    • @NancyJackson

      Sometimes when fusing Argentium that happens. I could have fused it longer or if it was truly fused, then I could have sanded down further.
