Is This The Worst Street Photography Fail Ever? #nikonz6
Street photography is the genre of photography I struggle the most with. Like anything, I assume it takes practice. So this is me practicing, using the Nikon Z6 and Nikkor 24-85 f/3.5-4.5

      Thanks for watching. Was waiting for the z6III but then saw the price was a few hundred dollars than the z8 so I think that should be my next camera.

    • @musiqueetmontagne
      @musiqueetmontagne 6 дней назад

      @@forced_perspective Absolutely, I have a Z6ii and a Z8. The 6ii is a great camera, beautiful 24 mp files but the tracking is not so good. OK with old style panning but the processors aren't powerful enough for the AI AF modules. The Z 8 is tremendous, I've been shooting Nikon for 50 years and it's by far the best camera I've ever owned. I thought of upgrading 6ii for a 6iii but, as you say , one can get deals on the Z8 for little more. I paid less than the UK Z6iii price when in Hong Kong for my Z8. Now....upgrade to a 6iii, nice and light , fab high ISO, or a second Z8..... 🤔🤔🤔.. Haha, we're so lucky we can have these choices. Go for the Z 8 it's much more powerful than the 6iii... Happy shooting, Cheers, Robert.

    • @forced_perspective
      @forced_perspective 6 дней назад

      Perfect thanks for the info Robert. You are correct. We are lucky to be able to make such choices. Z8 coming soon hahaha. Was flirting with some canons tried the R5 and R6 II and even though they track really well, I just dot love the ergonomics so I think I'll stay with Nikon. For familiarity and also they are not that far behind the other brands now.

    • @musiqueetmontagne
      @musiqueetmontagne 6 дней назад

      @@forced_perspective Yes the Sony and Canon AF is probably a little better at acquiring lock on in some circumstances but buffer, ergonomics, lens choice for wildlife and portraiture are sublime too... That's why I've stayed with Nikon all these years. In high tech, all the companies play catch up now and again but tbh with mirrorless cameras all 3 main brands are good. I'm not a video guy, a bit old but learning, but the Z8 /9 has the best highend specs for video now. Enjoy your Z 8.😊

      It was $188 per person but I also paid $10 extra for the birthday package so in total after taxes was $409.16.. I don't think they took walk ins because they were pretty much fully booked plus you have to confirm your reservation with them the day before to ensure weather is right. But maybe on the slower days they may accept walk ins

    I’m a little late on this conversation. For me personally I think most of us would love the latest and greatest camera that technology can create. The real question is do we actually need it. Big difference between need and want. I use a D500 and in reality I probably don’t use anywhere near all the capabilities that the D500 can do. On a Z9 that would even be more so. The D500 isn’t holding me back in any way right now for what I shoot and for my level of experience. I imagine that bird eye focus would be wonderful but that isn’t what I mostly struggle with. I usually get my focus pretty good on the D500. I still enjoy using the D500 and my Tamron 150-600 G2 plus in low light situation I use my Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 E FL ED VR Lens with a 1.7 teleconverter. It gives me 500 mm of reach at a constant f/4.8 plus f/2.8 without the converter if my target is close. Lots of good lenses available on the used market for those of us using DSLR’s these days. Not saying that there won’t come a time when I might use mirrorless but I don’t loose sleep on it and likely not anytime soon and this is mid 2024. D500 is still a great camera and produces wonderful photos.

    • @forced_perspective
      @forced_perspective Месяц назад

      I am still in the same boat, barely scratch the features of the D500. The one camera I was going to take a hard consideration to just got announced which is the Z6 III, that eye AF would be a game changer along with superior video focus ad I do more videos. If the price point is right, I may take the plunge and hopefully get another camera I can use for the next 10years.

    Lovely pictures of that very colourful bird. I agree that rattlesnakes are best viewed behind glass either on tv or at a zoo. Garter snakes I don’t mind but anything venomous isn’t welcome anywhere close to me. Glad that was you only encounter.

      @@forced_perspective In Western Washington it is mostly Garter Snakes. You could probably find Rubber Boas but I have never seen one. In Eastern Washington they have Gopher snakes, night snakes, racers, and Western Rattle Snakes. The Western Rattle snake is very shy. Unless you sit on a stack of rocks in the heat of the day you should be fine. They like to hang out in the rocks to avoid the heat. Eastern Washington has much more temperature changes between seasons that we do on this side of the Cascades. In the winter Eastern Washington gets much colder than in Western Washington. Essentially the temperature you endured while here is typical for Eastern Washington in the winter. In the summer they are much hotter. The reason the snakes like it there is it is dry. The Cascades create two very different environments. Moderate and wet on the west side, the ocean and Puget sound help stabilize our temperature while the mountains make sure the clouds dump the water on this side.

    You got some real nice pictures of the Harriers and owls. The grey ghost is a challenge. From what I have observed, the male owls and harriers are normally further out in the field away from people while the females are smarter and stay closer to the people so the eagles will leave them alone. I really like the GBH on the post. Bummer about formatting the card. Glad you got some of the images back. I am so glad you had a good time while up here even though it was the coldest we have been in a very long time. If you have seen my IG lately you will have seen I have been posting a bunch of juvenile Bald Eagle pictures. What I haven't said win those posts is that is my mother in-laws farm. It is common to see 3 eagles there. I know I am l lucky to live in a place with so many bald eagles.

      Thanks for tagging along Jeff. It truly was an amazing time.. Hopefully next time we can watch the eagles feeding on the Skagit during peak migration. I have been seeing lots on your ig including hawaii
