almost every movie or book i have seen or read has a good ending. i'd always questioned why bad endings were so rare. now i know why. this is a horrible way to end the story. i was hoping from the first chapter that by the end this dystopian nightmare and the party would die. definitely not satisfied, i would be if the ending was different.
Hahahaha that is a take The ending definitely shocked me, but I actually really learned to enjoy it once I realised that Winston was finally killed by the though police Obrien told him that at some point the thought police would get him, he just wouldn’t know when. Just when we had learned to love big brother, that is when they got him Great ending
@@TheEssentialReads yeah i was getting all happy that winston at least got out of the ministry of love, still with julia or not. but that all flipped upside down when they killed him and he never left the place

As a middle school English teacher in USA, this is happening today in the classroom. Memory holes and new language
New language is « fine » language changes all of the time, it’s how it changes that can be bad. I personally am not a fan of internet speak. We have seen a huge shift in English because of « internet speak » people saying « unalived » for example is entirely due to internet censorship and algorithms
