Well done, My family worked there from about 1936 till the very end. There was a great replica toy that had a removable type1 and the type 2 was just a dock that would press the button on the bottom of the type 2 to fire it. The on/off/demo switch would an opening to block the light from the type 1 if, for some odd reason, you didn't want the light from the type one to shine through into the clear rod "barrel" and light it up when firing. The power dial on top of the type 1 did move and the "metal" dial next to it would angle the "metal" plate to look like an aiming apparatus. You could set the power levels and even do the overload as well. I hope I can track mine down, it's gotta be hidden in a box (recently had to put stuff in storage). You can find these online, but they are now 250-350 AUD.
