If you had a mini tool box. What would you put in it? What's up guys! Welcome back to my channel DaleDoesStuff. Today I am opening and showing you my mini tool box set up and how I organize my EDC within in. Lowe's just released the base and I had to snag it. Riding my Honda Helix in the Worst Wind EVER! | 1995 Honda Helix
Просмотров 324Месяц назад
After a few weeks of not being able to ride the Honda Helix I was finally able to get it out and go for a ride. But this trip was poorly planned and mainly driven off of urgency for more fuel to ride around when I could. I hopped on the scooter for the first time in 6 weeks and noticed that the fuel was on empty and needed to go fill up. I promptly tossed on a helmet and took off for the gas st...

Cleaning My Carburetor Without Taking It Off: Fuel Filter Change & Seafoam | 1995 Honda Helix
Просмотров 7893 месяца назад
What's up Guys? Welcome back to my channel Dale Does Stuff. Today, I installed a new fuel filter and added seafoam to my gas in an effort to clean out the carb and replace the old, dirty fuel filter that most likely is causing me issues on start up and while running. After I replace the fuel filter, I quickly go grab some seafoam and then go out on a 15 mile cruise. I get the Helix up to 74 mph...

Playing in the snow on my Honda Helix (250cc Scooter)
The orange one has steel liners and that makes it heavier, even though the liners have been drilled to lighten them. It adds rigidity to the panels and makes the whole package thicker.
The blade steel makes the orange one a no brainer. I like them both.
I plan on changing the color of both of them as I have seen many doing it. I like them both for the price.
I JUST got done doing my edge retention testing on it. It performed like 3cr13 with a good heat treatment. 2 1/2 hours of nonstop cardboard cutting on an 18° per side mirrored edge. It did exactly as well as I expected.
Thank you for your information. I guess I am learning a thing or two as I start my channel. Very interesting. Appreciate your dedication. That’s a lot of cutting.
Believe me that was one of the shorter sessions. D2 can go 4 hours on a factory edge. The orange D2 Ozark Trail went for 7 hours on the factory edge.
That is insane! I need to learn more! So cool. I subbed to your channel. Can’t wait to see what you post!
Welcome to the weird side of knife tube.
@knivesiguess thank you! Haha 🙏🏼
I thought the blade steel was d2
The orange blade is D2. The package states 3.25” stainless steel blade.
I bought a few the other day and realized how good it was and went back and got 10 more… My store was down to about two dozen white ones left. Better get them before they’re gone.
Yeah I had to travel to find them. My local Walmart doesn’t have them yet
Can you confirm the blade steel on the new one?
3.25" Stainless Steel. As stated on the package.
It performed exactly like 3cr13 in my edge retention testing, but OT does not identify the steel
Interesting. I was just saying that the package says “3.25” Stainless steel blade” so maybe by this statement I am being mislead. Do you have a video on this @knivesiguess
I just finished the live stream doing the testing. Tomorrow or the day after I'll have the video about the results up. A different set of Ozark Trails had 3cr listed on Walmart's website and everything I've seen from this blade between edge retention and how gummy the steel felt while sharpening it falls right in line with 3cr.
How do you know it has ceramic bearings?
You know what. I thought I had found that information but now I can not. I have been searching since your comment and I am actually thinking I am wrong. I may need to take this knife apart so I can correct myself. Whoops. It's like the intro too.. lmfao
@@DaleDoesStuff. ok.
Another video took it apart and said it has white plastic bearings… he tried switching blades from the white to the orange and it did not work…
I picked one up the other day. I love this thing! I also have the orange original. I took the white one and used RIT dye and made it like a really dark purple. It came out amazing. For anybody wanting a different color of this knife I would suggest trying RIT dye. You should be able to get it at your local Walmart or possibly the grocery store. My local Ingles had it.
I may have to try this if I can get myself a second knife. I’ll go on a hunt this weekend. I would love it in black to be honest. Thank you so much for the advice!
But then I couldn't call it the Stormpooper. No one would understand. LOL
now if hf would come out with a lower box. as there drawers are on rollers. and there is a lid stop for the top cover. plus 1/2 the cost.
We can only hope for now and wait and see.
I prefer to carry white because it is slim. Orange is great but bulky and a tad clunky. And white is only 5$. Orange has been tucked away as back up.
Hey I respect that. Everyone has their own preference. For some reason, when something gets too light/slim, I tend to not like it as much. I like to feel it in my hand.
Looks like a nice stocking stuffer!
I would agree! Great gift for anyone.
How many times did I say "Really can't complain"? HAHAHA
Lets be honest, no one is buying this combo for the lanyard or the multi-tool, lol. I just picked one up today and love it. It's currently the best knife i own.
That's awesome! You should check out my upcoming video and see if it's a knife you'll want. Dropping soon!
Don't feel bad. My 49cc scooter had a tag saying MOPED. For a time, it was a requirement of state law. If i put it on the road again it'll have to have a different kind of tag.
That’s funny!!
Yes. I'd like to see a road trip.
I am going to try next year. Get all the camping gear loaded up and be gone for a weekend.
g10 and D2....what not to love?
It is a great knife to get for $25. No complaints here.
Just need more drawer travel!
Very true
looks like a nice knife for the price.
Cheapest civivi they make! Pretty sick.
Do you know anything about the new 5’x10’ trailer harbor freight is coming out with.
Im sorry Charlie. I do not.
Popular brand ,considering they are China made.
I have always enjoyed Civivi for this cheap prices and honestly the quality of the action has always been there. I would agree that they do sometimes cheap out to keep the price points low. But all in all, I enjoy them for a knife that I can destroy and not care about.
I want one...real bad. I was checking out the red one, but you can't go wrong with black.
I love the black the best out of all of them.
I have the green cabinets. And I have it pushed up to the studs. That makes a magical collection spot for everything to be attracted to. And fall on the floor. I thought about the black myself. But that would really look like a big hole although it would work fine. Guess I’ll have to wait and hope that International or Husky make it.
I got a red and black on Halloween, went when the truck came. Limit 2. But they are instructed to hold inventory so they have stock for black Friday sales
When I went to get one they were gone. One of the staff said they were gone the same day they hit the shelves.
They are going to be hard to get ahold of until black friday.
This is just like women and the Stanley mugs. I don't get it.
Boys like toys.
Won't be in stock at my Harbor Freight store until their black Friday sale. Can't even order one off their website.
It is extremely hard to find them right now. I got them just in time.
Love the general and for $20 it's a steal. Only drawback.... the drawers don't pull out very far.
I would agree. I may be working on a solution for that.
@ yeah I figured somebody would. If I don’t come up with it first myself. Keep us posted. I’m gonna go pick up tomorrow. Probably get a couple of them.
What is the point of these? Is it a jewelry box for your lesbian girlfriend?
Your comment is appreciated. You can figure it out yourself. 😂
Good review, thanks🇺🇸
Thank you for watching.
all my knives
Same. I have a feeling I may need more.
Don't do dumb music, Dale.
Thanks Bridget.
"i know this was a little long" bro, the video right under yours is from Price Kustoms also about the US general mini toolbox and it's 23 minutes long...... i think im okay with the 6 minutes
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Everyone has their own preferred length for a video so 6 minutes is great for me. I'll try to stay in that sweet spot.
Got the Kobalr for her jewelry and the runners suck. Did what i could with parafin. Getting the Harbor thx for the tip.
Goodluck finding them. They sell fast! Glad you enjoyed!
I don't think any company would do this, but having stackable bottom halves would be a game changer, and having a way to lock them together would be great. Personally I'd like the entire thing to be able to lock the drawers and doors, along with some kind of option for carry handles, to make the ecosystem portable. I'd also like to see variation in bottom boxes, such as one with only standard drawers, one with only medium drawers, and one with one of those pivoting doors that slides back so that you can have an open cubby. Look at what the prosumer brands are doing with their stacking toolbox systems, why can't we have something similar with metal toolboxes, it'd proved better individualized organization. Though one thing I do want, that I haven't personally seen from any company, is removable drawers with a no-hassle system to put the drawers back in place, if I can make an organized tool tray within any of these box ecosystems I'd also like to be able to separate that tray from everything else when needed. Full-sized boxes are nice for bulk storage, but when you properly organize them one drawer can easily span three to five tool categories, and there's not a simple way to individualize those categories so that you're only picking out what set you need at any given time; individualization leads to better efficiency, especially when you can just grab a fully individualized set at a given moment and not have to worry about the rest of the shared drawer. If I could get a set like what I'm describing, go three or four boxes tall and three boxes wide, this ecosystem would be better organized and far easier to use than a toolbox of similar internal dimensions; now imagine having a wall of these things. And it's not just about individualization within a group of toolboxes, you could fully separate sets of tools, I could have a box that stays at a particular workbench, like all of my electronics kits staying inside in a dedicate room while all of my woodworking and mechanics kits stay in the garage, now expand that to other hobbies such as leatherworking, stained glass stuff, you could probably build out a decent sewing kit with the right style of drawers and cubbies, etc., I wouldn't even mind having one of these on/in a desk for item storage. The only tools that don't really fit the ecosystem are larger ones, like torque wrenches and breaker bars, diagnostic tools, or massive material working tools like hole saws that're above six inch diameters. For now, mini toolboxes feel like a trend, one of those typical Black Friday and Father's Day gifts, a novelty item. But with the right choices they could be just as useful as any stacking toolbox system, just without bulk storage. If people learn how to properly organize their tools, and have a system that promotes that kind of organization, smaller toolboxes that can tesselate into an ecosystem is actually far more beneficial for most people in most environments due to raw efficiency of the organization of the ecosystem.
My '87 Helix needed a carb cleaning. A carb rebuild kit was $20.00, A whole new carb was $25.00. I just bought a new carb and threw it in. Works perfectly. Ordered from Amazon.
I might do this next year. So far everything has been running fine after a little seafoam cleaning. I want to do upgrades but I am not sure what.
@@DaleDoesStuff. A quick and cheap mod you can do is changing the color of the dash lights. Just buy some colored 149 LEDs and throw them in. It'll cost you around $15.00 and take maybe a half hour to install. I changed mine to blue. Looks great on a black Helix.
I can almost guarantee that there will not be a single one of these in most stores come black friday. They fly off the shelves right now
Yeah I’m just trying to get a second black one and it’s impossible. Been to three stores. None know when they will get them back.
Thank you! Very informative, what is your screen saver?!
Ooo that's a great question. I found a way to download this clock so every time my screen times out it pops up. I was honestly trying to avoid it during the video but couldn't find a way to change my time out duration. ANYWAYS, With some googling you might be able to find it. I can't remember at the moment. If you are saving the background, then that is just a windows one I found. LOL.
Dammit HF. Looks like I gotta buy one now. I'll put it with my Toolbox in the shop and leave the Kobalt one on my office desk
Yeah they are selling fast. But should have them for Black Friday from what I am hearing.
Does it fit on the kobolt bottom chest?
Yes first perfectly.
Drawer clearance needs to be better on the USG. The Kobalts come out all the way...the USGs don't. WHY?
Well the reason would be BEARING DRAWERS. The mechanism to hold them requires that amount of space to hold and support the 5lb capacity and stay in a straight line. Either get metal and metal and pull out further Or you get less clearance for pulling out. I’m still choosing USG all day.
@@DaleDoesStuff. Well, that makes a lot of sense and I guess they'd have to option for full extension rails over cheaper non-full extension rails. For 15 bucks...hard to justify coming up with something like that.
I like it! You also need a drawer for watches.
Yes I do. I will need to get organized haha. Watches are next on my edc list of things to figure out for myself.
Nice looking little box. The beveled/rounded edges on the top are a nice touch, and the black handles also. I've got the Kobalt (actually, got my wife the pink model), and the Menards "Performax" model, which is also a super deal at $11, but only available in black, and sold out around me. I didn't even know Kobalt had the bottom box! That would be great to see from US General. Hopefully, my local HFs will get it back in stock before Black Friday, and even more colors would be fantastic!
I’m an all black out person so I love that the handles are black. I am looking for the Menards toolbox to review but can’t find it yet. It would be fun to get others that I can find as well and compare them all.
I use mine for all my tig supply at work
I got a second one to organize my 3D printing tools
HF is gonna sell a f*%# ton of these…
Yes they are! They need a base ASAP
I wish that they had a matching bottom box like the kobalt has... Other than that, its definitely the better choice!!
I am sure they will in the future. It’s probably in the making as we speak.
Just pick mine up tonight. Can't wait to unbox it.
They’re the best! Awesome brother.
I like how it already comes with the liners unlike the Kobalt
The liners make it so much better. The ones are cut for the Kobalt just didn’t turn out. Pre-cut is superior for sure.
The should come out with some mini bottom and middle boxes.
That would be pretty neat!
Looks good for storing my rechargeable batteries and charger.
Definitely go get yourself one!! It’ll work great
The bearings sealed the deal. I wanted the kobalt but the slides were crap.
Didn’t even know they had these.
They just released these.
I’ll pick up a couple of the Harbor Freight boxes. A good Christmas gift for boys
Can’t go wrong!
I’m gonna do the same !
The store near me was sold out. The second store I tried had about 20 of them
