Just bought one for $30 needing tlc. Looking up the serial number yields nothing, however seems even older than this one with rounded inlay and rosewood with a spruce top.

My dad still has that guitar that I learned to play on. Question, My dads has that pick guard on it too. And if s, What years and models did they do that on? I was looking into it and it seems the older models (Mid1940's) seem to have them. Looking forward to adding it to my collection someday. Good demo on it. Thanks

It is a bolt on neck. The two switches are coil tapping switches for dual coil / single coil. This is a DMZ 5000, with passive electronics. This video sound is horrendous. He needs to do a DI box to the recording, or really turn up the amp to hear the quality of this bass sound. And playing, get somebody who can play bass to demonstrate it.

I owned one of these for 20 years. This was actually the first bass I ever owned. Great bass for hard rock, (like Sabbath) or metal. Neck heavy. Built like a tank. Of course the aluminum neck really gives this bass a distinct sound that doesn't sound like any other bass I've owned, including Fenders, EB Stingrays, Laklands, Warwicks, Sadowskys, Sandbergs, Roscoes, or Pedullas. Wish I didn't sell it.

Bro. Do you have any actual Information about this guitar, as in, where and when was it made? What is it made out of? What kind of electronics are in it? Where can they be purchased? Are they discontinued? It's a quite rare guitar. I own one but I know almost nothing about it. I'd appreciate the knowledge. Thanks.

That very model was my first and I still have it. It's Blonde as well. Made in Japan. Purchased in 1973.The wood has aged and it sounds great. I would never sell it. Paid $350 back then. I thought that was a lot. You don't see many blonde types out there. Just play it and enjoy it!! Thanks

Tcheck your bass battery, the gain on the amp is at max and the green light barely light up

Be warned-the necks on many Bumsteads warp and twist. Not good.

I got one, bought new in 80's. Has a hockey stick headstock and a 2 point trem, with roller bridge with fine tuners, a locking nut, behind a regular nut. 🤔 It has a sort of strat body style, with hb s s pickups. Plywood body, and the best neck known to man.😍 I mean straightest, smoothest.

my dad died about 5 years ago and i found one of these in my storage , im guesing it was one of him but not sure since i found a Hamer and my x-wife said she remembered me buying it but ummm i dont and its freaking beautiful as shit....but mine has a fixed bridge it kinda looks like a Tele type bridge

I have that exact bass and those two little tap switch's are for using all 8 or just 4 pickup coils on each pickup.
