I miss Candy Finch. I was so happy when he moved to Seattle. I was in the percussion section of the Seattle Symphony for about 25 years, but played jazz after hours. I studied with Candy and we became friends. He was a constant inspiration and wonderful human being. He deserves more attention in the drumming community. He had original techniques and ideas that really helped transform performance on the drum set.

Me too. Here's my post under hassanfinch8242's post; He gave me a lesson in Seattle in the late 70's - in his house I believe. Showed me how to vamp on 'Jack Be Nimble'. I played with that for years, along with a signature pattern of his that I can't recall, maybe "A Night in Tunisia" intro. Good guy great drummer. Wouldn't let me adjust the kit saying we need to learn to sit in on anybody's kit.
