Correction: There is a reason bumble bees are called gentle giants but female Bumblebees can sting when threatened although it is incredibly rare. Commercial greenhouses even introduce bumblebee colonies into their greenhouses to pollinate. One because they are such great pollinators and two the risk is incredibly low. However if you are allergic you should use common sense and you should always have your epipen at the ready when you are outside. If you don't know if you are allergic to bee and wasp stings there are simple tests that can be done to know if you are and what level you are just ask your doctor.
