I basically only suggest where to install your trumpet horn on a 2021 ram 1500.

      lol thanks. I mean, I make it known in my description that of the biggest problems was just figuring out where to mount two horns on a ram 1500. This video was taken a few years ago, and I have never had an issue with them not performing. Yeah a lot of people find their voices on the Internet. Whatever

    You really need to cover all those wires up, especially the ones that go to the compressors. That is a very messy job? Once the wires down below get wrt , they will fail.

    • @-Quisp-
      @-Quisp- 7 месяцев назад

      First of all, I left them exposed for the sake of this video so people could see where I’m running them from and to. This video is few years old and the compressor is behind the grill and radiator, so no real exposure to the elements. I installed this a few years ago and have had zero issues. They’re fine but thanks for your reply lol

      @@-Quisp- Thanks for the video but I agree that it is a messy install. Wires dangling everywhere and the negative wire should be black, not red. I don't think the bottom position you chose is a good one. The exposed horns will get hit by road debris and water/mud/salt.

    • @-Quisp-
      @-Quisp- 8 месяцев назад

      @@bigman-adv thanks for the reply. The wire is heavy gauge wire, so it’s not really dangling. I have it taped together from the solenoid down to the horn so there’s no risk of interfering with anything else under the hood. Ideally yes the ground to the battery should be black, but that’s what was available at my local auto parts store and it could’ve been pink. It’s a short distance to the negative terminal. I know what is ground and anybody who watches this should know that. The placement was an ideal, but because of the design of the truck that’s what I found was best for me and I have not had any issues, especially since the horns are somewhat protected by the mounting bracket I installed and even though it’s hard to say it’s pretty much right behind the front grill. What complicated this install for me was that I had two airhorns not one as far as placement goes. If it was just one airhorn, I would’ve placed it up top.

    So initially I was gonna make a video showing all of the installation points but then severe weather was coming so I just did what I did lol. But to answer your question yes it’s tied into the positive and negative wires from the stock horn therefore both of the stock horns and the trumpet horns are controlled by the steering wheel. No toggle. One day I will update this video showing everything related to the installation. By the way the loudness of the horns does not really come through in this video. It’s almost annoyingly loud but that’s the point right? Just make sure that you use the recommended gauge wire particularly the 12 gauge wire along with the relays and the fuse wire, otherwise it probably won’t be as loud

      Thanks for the tips. Oh by the way, did you connect the wires for relay pins 85 and 86 to stock horn wires? In other words, one relay wires connected to pins 85 and 86 to one stock horn and the other relay connected to other stock horn? Any plans on adding a toggle switch?

    • @-Quisp-
      @-Quisp- 2 года назад

      @@usmarinenapinoy The original wire harness that goes down to the two stock horns BEFORE the stock connector splits them to each stock horn, is only two wires (+/-). I cut those wires before the stock connector splits them. Then I used a 4 conductor connector to splice the cut positive stock wire and two relay wires that go to each relay. Then did the same for the stock negative wire that I cut. The connectors i used look something like this. www.amazon.com/dp/B07FN8D1M6/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_1NSWEVFAA8NK7ZS0G4FK?th=1 All of this presumes that you want both of your stock horns active as well

    • @usmarinenapinoy
      @usmarinenapinoy 2 года назад

      @@-Quisp- I like the idea of using the connector. However, how do you use it. I see that the connector can only accommodate 4 wires. Having 4 wires coming from two relays, that already used all that the connector can accommodate. With that, Where do you hook up the stock horn wires to the connector to connect with the wires that comes from two relays?

    • @usmarinenapinoy
      @usmarinenapinoy 2 года назад

      Can you post pics of the completed connector?

    • @-Quisp-
      @-Quisp- 2 года назад

      @@usmarinenapinoy You’ll have two 4port connectors one for each horn. So on one connector you’ll have one end of the stock cut positive wire going into one port the other end of the stock cut positive wire going into the 2nd port. Then two 18 gauge wires taking up the third and fourth port of the first connector going to the #86 pin on each relay. Then do the same for the stock cut Negative wire. One end going into port 1 of 2nd connector, the other cut end going into port 2 then two 18 gauge wires going into 3/4 port and connecting into pin 85 of the relays. This is why I say when you cut the positive and negative stock horn wires near the stock connector you need to give yourself a couple inches room otherwise you can also just cut a short piece of 18 gauge wire for each of the positive negative wires near the stock connector and crimp them with a butt connector then continue as Outlined

  • @usmarinenapinoy
    @usmarinenapinoy 2 года назад

    You hooked it up to the stock horn. Does this mean you use the truck’s horn button in the steering wheel or do you have separate toggle switch/button to activate the motohorns?

    Theres a thumb screw that the older atvs have same principle but i believe honda came up with this because ive burnt my knuckles a many of times on the crankcase trying to adjust the idle on my 87 trx250x lol.
